    Walker back soon?

Possibly equally silly - Brad Parker would make a good FB as well...tall, tough, excellent defender...plus he spent time out wide so can catch the ball. Won’t happen of course, but interesting consideration. According to me, anyway...

    Walker back soon?

But Parker can’t come on and play 15 minutes at dummy half like Croker or Cust. Is it silly to suggest that Walker could play wing? He used to, back in his very early days.

    Jack Hetherington

In contrast to T-Sipley when they faced each other last season. Sips stood right up to him physically on the field, and got in his face with proper controlled aggressive defence. Didn’t lose his head for a moment, despite playing against someone who is the ‘alpha’ male of NZ rugby league and...

    Interesting game for Corey Waddell

    Waddell, Gosiewski or Olakau’atu?

    Interesting game for Corey Waddell

I like him. He’s more capable of holding up the middle than Gosiewski, and doesn’t get driven back a step. i agree, he did seem like an edge player when younger, I wonder if he still has the mobility for it? He’s only young. I also recall him looking very like a second Jake T in his first couple...

    Props

Paseka is definitely improving game on game, but I still see him as being behind Boyle and Sipley, once they’re all fit. Probably more potential though?

    Props

Waddell is very good, but he’s a lock playing as a prop. Very effective in defence, brings good energy around the ruck. Similar to Jake, really. I’d have him above Gosiewski...

[Resurrected] 6 wks for Turbo and Walker (old news)

I did see something on social Media that suggested he had a donor hamstring put in. NFI how they do that, but perhaps have replaced the offending cartilage completely now?!

    Rag dolls

Anyone paying out Boyle for his effort last week, he did his groin after about three seconds and played out the game injured to help out the side. Apart from that he has been bending the line like a beast. Should be in every week, in place of Paseka ( who was better last night). T-Sips has never...

    Tevita Funa

In fact, same weight as D Walker. Though Funa is an inch taller, at 6 foot one.

    [Resurrected] Paseka

Boyle was better than him last week. Still, Des sees what he wants to see in him, evidently.

    1977 Jersey Flegg Side

Ian Gately would have been younger, wouldn’t he? Could be wrong... I do remember Bozo telling him he ‘ran like a tart’, so must have been a Fulton-led team.

experts say depth is our weakness

I do feel like that is changing, now with Keppie coming off the bench. Boyle too, brings top-level game these days. Remember how good Toff Sipley was going before that bad leg injury Last year, too...

Except Croker (theirs, not ours). Whining little git...

    Metcalf, Schuster, Hoppa, Ben T.

It would be a massive ask for them to come into first grade without NSW Cup under their belts..and no games at all since last year. All massive talents though. Ideally we'd see one of them at a time, as the debutant in a team full of experience...but injuries may have other ideas! Metcvalfe is...

    [Resurrected] Paseka

I agree he was better - but still see more up-side to Boyle at the moment. He is another big unit but more consistently uses his size and power.

    It is Schuster time

If we’re talking about getting a massive head knock then backing up to make a try saving tackle on a big angry prop two seconds later... I’d take two of them!
  18. F

    Tevita Funa

He’s good - no-nonsense player, makes the right decisions more often than not. Has very good game awareness...little things like deciding to come in off the line when he might be put into touch, etc. Seems mature, and intelligent. I guess he was U20s captain for a good reason..

    [Resurrected] Paseka

Agree we are yet to see full potential. Whether or not he has it in him, that is the question. I am also a fan of T-Sips, and what we saw from Boyle in first two rounds was miles ahead of what we saw from Paseka last week. Ironically, my iPad just auto-corrected the word Paseka and changed it...

    Who misses out?

Agreed, regarding Boyle. Looked great coming off the bench in first two games. I think Gosiewski would need a run in NSW Cup or whatever, before getting right back in firsts. So I guess that means another week or two of full contact training these days. Waddell likely to cover that spot maybe...
