    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

Yeah he does seem like a nice kid. Personally I just want to see him happy. Someone on another thread made a comment about Cody Walker never looking happy; the same could be said for Schu. Honestly, if he fulfils his potential elsewhere I am ok with that. Ideally it would be with us but from...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

Another way to look at it is perhaps dropping him to reserves was the go - it seems the answer to the question, “does he want to fight for it?”, is close to being answered.

    Refs' managing games:

I also often think the game is being managed and logical response is to stop watching (or consuming since NRL is in the entertainment business). But for some reason, I can’t!

    Nathan Brown Impact?

It’s one way to get width in your attack. But if you haven’t earned the right to go wide to begin with, it’s pretty easy to defend against.

Can I take a mulligan on this round????

    Nathan Brown Impact?

That’s my perspective too. And I thought it was clear. Interesting how others see it differently!

Remember, It is Just a Game...

Perhaps the answer is staring us in the face: has the importance of fan commitment has been replaced by gambling revenue? Tribalism adds the specactle, the entertainment, but in a sport where the bottom line matters most, gambling trumps all.

    Nathan Brown Impact?

15 runs for 153m is not too shabby. I agree there were times where he was trying to play the link man and it would have been better if he tucked it under the arm and went forward, but I think that was more a symptom of how ****e our attack was.

    Nathan Brown Impact?

I thought he was good (again) today. Ran and tackled hard. Yes, a few handling errors, but wasn’t on his Pat Malone today. I thought he was one of the only guys who noticeably played with energy….

Remember, It is Just a Game...

Interesting question and I’m not sure I know how to answer it. I guess it’s always a risk in the day and age of professional sport but the focus is now on entertainment. If it’s entertaining, people will still part with their hard earned. And if you love sport, you naturally follow a team. I...

I think many players do care about the supporters. Just not as much as what many fans want or expect them to.

Remember, It is Just a Game...

I agree with the sentiment, but I do not think the likes of DCE and Brooks necessarily sleep well after a game like today’s. They are competitive and have to deal with substantial scrutiny for their performances. It’s not an easy job… I have some really sh&t days at work, where my performance...

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

It’s completely on the senior players, especially Tom today.

    DCE “I don’t know”

Exactly my perspective. I love Manly, but I can’t let something I have no control over get me too worked up. My old man would let a Manly loss get to him and affect his mood for (what seemed like) days. It was terrible. Now, he worked his guts out all week and watching Manly was a release...

    MVP: Rd 4 v Dragons

Koula Brown (thought he was the only one who tried to go through the middle) Paseka Fark me that was atrocious.

    Parker to centre on Sun.

I agree with everything you say. What prompts me to want to give Hopoate a shot is that I don’t rate Ray so highly (I think we have seen his ceiling), and I wouldn’t move Garrick from the centres (so no Parker). Young Hoppa would therefore be in my best 17 this weekend, but there is clearly the...

    Parker to centre on Sun.

It’s moot now anyway. Ray named in the 2, Tommy Talau on the extended bench with Parker.

    Parker to centre on Sun.

There is always an element of unknown with young players, which is why coaches can be too conservative in their selections. He was taken to Vegas, and played well in the trials, so I think that shows he is not too far off in the club’s estimation. Agree you wouldn’t play a young guy for the...

Lehi Hopoate for me. We are 2-0 and can afford to give the young buck a go.

    Comment about our Defence

I thought Nathan Brown setting the line speed, and the rest of the team following, was the key. I honestly thought he was past it, but he really has started strongly.
