No Magic Rd for us, you beauty.

Just another advantage the NRL has given the Donkeys. I don't think they take any of their home games to other areas to spread the RL message like the rest of the clubs do. It's not surprising that they are the most financially affluent club in the NRL . . yet they haven't won a premiership for...

    Jamal Fogarty

Fair point. However, at the time the club let Humphreys walk it had no idea Fogarty would be available. I don't think the club knew that DCE would be leaving. It's the only rational explanation. Mind you, rational and Manly administrators don't always meld.

All NRL Games [Round 9, 2025]

The standard in the women's match was extremely high. These women can really play. I didn't see any head high tackles so the men should be able to do it too. The only skill aspect I think they currently lack is goal kicking.

Is there an Eagles affiliation between the clubs? Should be. We could use some of their mobile big boppers.

    Post-Game Discussion Panthers V Manly [Round 8, 2025]

Much of this has to do with the influence a ref and the Clunker have. They can, and do, influence results. They give continual six-agains to teams attacking a tryline until the defence cracks. If you watched the Manly V 'Riff match on Saturday you may have noticed how well Manly played in the...

    General NRL chat

He would also be valued because of his fan appeal. He is very popular and has the "glamour" look that sells merchandise. Compare him with, say, Payne Hass who is the outstanding NRL forward yet wouldn't have the same off-field appeal.

I'm starting to feel sorry for the refs . .

I think most of the "high" tackles are because there are three tacklers trying to stop the ball carrier. How can you wrap your arm around when you are shoulder-to-shoulder with a fellow defender? Also, most of the bad head injuries happen in head clashes between friendly fire. If the refs gave...

An officer of the Tactical Response Group is respected. Can't say that about a referee.

I'm starting to feel sorry for the refs . .

Oh, I forgot in my original diatribe to include a further artifical imposition placed on NRL refs: Having to remember the names of every player! No longer "Number 13, out here now!" Can you imagine how much time they must spend learning the players' names? It must be like tedious schoolwork. I...

I'm starting to feel sorry for the refs . .

I know. There must be something wrong with me. But the expectations we are placing on the on-field ref are unrealistic. The poor buggars have to deal with rule changes every week. Crackdowns on transitory issues. Bunker clowns in their ears. Doctors diagonising from their divans. Dopey...

All NRL Games [Round 9, 2025]

I'm pleased Manly isn't playing in Magic round for two main reasons: 1. The rules around high contact/sin bins/send offs will be changed in some way due to the current backlash and officiating will be a magical mystery experience. We can sit back, watch the mayhem and laugh as some teams get...

Why Manly are the most frustrating team in the NRL

Yeah, we are wedded to a frustrating team. But I reckon the most infurating team to follow is the 'Tits. They score outstanding tries and regularly jump to impressive leads. But every 'Tit fan must know that disaster is only one set away. Their defence is shaky at best, and opposition teams...

    Manly Needs a Full Reset

Bulldogs also were among the two worst clubs in the premiership for a few years. Then the Leagues Club and sponsors tipped in buckets of cash, above and beyond the Cap yet 'mysteriously' hidden from NRL auditors (if there is such a thing). At least we've never won a wooden spoon. I'd suggest, if...
