    Manly In Crisis 2025 edition

You ain't wrong @BOZO : if it really is true that problems were identified but no solutions discussed then there really was something missing! Tbh I wouldn't blame the players for being p*d off if that did happen. If that was happening in my work life I would consider it totally unprofessional...

    Billy Slater

That's totally right and all joking aside I had respect for Slater for that one. Hated his studs-up sliding behaviours. But with Wolfy that night he made up for a lot.

    Billy Slater

Although there is not a Manly player on either side clearly what is needed now is for the Blues to crush the Toads tonight so that at least most of us can feel good about grubaholic Slater moaning whinging and crying! Come on Payne and Latrell for huge games!

    Sack Seibold Immediately

On Seibold, for a few weeks I've felt like he is worried he has lost the dressing room, or may have done so. Very difficult problem to resolve. Well, unless you start winning, which is a cure for all ills. But I don't think this school-marmish lecture sheet behaviour is any answer! Problem...

    Sack Seibold Immediately

On Croker and Saab, I imagine Croker if nothing else simply needs the minutes. This suggests the coaching staff badly wants him to play 80 against the Tigers so they are grabbing at match fitness. Saab, a little surprising. Maybe he too is a little short of a proper run? Last couple of weeks...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

I agree. As a middle he is no star but he works hard. When we are forced to play him on an edge he suffers from lack of quick lateral movement and generally (imo) just not quite knowing where to stand, to support the centre forwards and outside backs and allow for the fact he will need a...

    The Haumole Bible.

Can't remember who (apologies) but one of our members attended the Reggies and the bottom line seemed to be that Chee Kam looked woeful - unfortunately, because at least he is experienced in playing 2nd Row. I fear our current circumstances mean we will end up stuck with Waddell playing out of...

    The Daly Cherrygraph

I absolutely agree. DCE is a clever and methodical man. His next move was done and dusted before he went on TV. How it works in connection with NRL negotiation rules I do not know, but is likely another effect of the Magic Sombrero.

    Wooden Spoon

Yes I agree. Our form is horribleterrible and we are indeed being beaten by the worst teams in the comp. But I think we have a little more upside to climb out of this hole and we shoullllld get away with it. Jag one win and enjoy the byes, we would well be top 8 again - and that tells you...

    Pre-Game Manly V Tigers [Round 17, 2025]

Mercifully we are at home at least. But the way we're playing we are a real actual chance of being rolled by this parade of losers. Team list on both sides should be interesting......

    MVP: Rd 15 v Titans

Terrible game, my thoughts were: 3 Garrick. Some rocks, some diamonds. Certainly tried the house down. 2 Tommy "the real TT" Talau. Likewise, put in every effort. 1 Ola'k. One of our most effective threats until terribly unlucky to get hurt. When he left the field our last hopes were...

    Mindfulness

Interestingly, this appears to me somewhat near some elements of classical Stoicism, particularly as taught by Epictetus to give a person tools for enduring the most difficult circumstances (Epictetus was a freed slave, so in a very real way when he first practiced Stoicism he could not control...

    Josh Aloiai

This is unfortunate news. Sympathies for Aloiai. His shoulder problems are clearly recurrent so I am not tremendously surprised, but bad luck and bad news for him.

    The Daly Cherrygraph

Make no mistake: if they lose SOO2 then DCE is over, and I imagine some others likewise. They will use SOO3 to launch a real shake up.

    The Daly Cherrygraph

TBH, even though his personal form this year has been inconsistent at best, if I was Slater I imagine I'd still pick DCE for SOO2. Is there really a compellingly better choice? I'd be thinking at least he is very experienced and he knows what it is to carry the main load in a clutch SOO game.

    Post-Game Discussion Knights V Manly [Round 14, 2025]

The really aggravating thing is that if only we could manage to play consistently reasonably we really would be knocking on the top 4, perhaps solidly within it. Even with how terrible we can be, if we can manage a win ratio somewhere around 50% we should just about creep into the 8. If we...

    Strategy

If we manage to lose to the Titans I am going to start seriously worrying! Hopefully enough of our injury crocks return to make a post-SOO difference.

Number 9 - when will they learn.

Exactly: that is the answer. Our preferred pattern of play features a reliance on our halves for generating attack, with Turbo when fit a point of difference as he charges into the backline attracting defenders. Our 9s are coached to distribute ball for hit ups or toward the halves. Maybe...

Game Day: Knights V Manly [Round 14, 2025]

We went from winners to horrible when all we had to do was keep doing the same, what the actual F is wrong with this team?
