    2026 recruitment & retention

This is up there with that one Japanese city avoiding the nuke, because the weather was bad. Excellent news!!!

    The Manly DNA

I believe he's been back here, as coaching director / pathway coaching director (something along those lines), since the end of 2023. He was in the first season of the Manly Way.

    Aloiai Gone

I believe you mean O - sh - ay O - l - ay? I'm still baffled as to how on earth that mispronounciation even occured. Vlandys found a way to stuff it up even more than Josh Aioli. Calling him Aioli would've been more accurate...

    Joey Walsh

I first aired my concerns about him in June. I know he's not the first player to be toxic and play NRL for Manly, but it's different when you're actively involved in the situation. Can't get behind him.

    Michael Ennis

Yeah, I don't remember the inner-workings of that saga too well. Wasn't on Silvertails at this point. I'm going to assume that 2022 had leaks exploding out, all across this forum? Chaotic year that one.

I know him. Not a big fan of his character.

Interesting, but why wouldn't be have moved prior to Des getting sacked? Only reason I can see him going there, is for Foran. Given Ballin has the same manager, I imagine that's likely also problematic on that front? Would evidence Ballin going to the GC instead. I'd prefer Ballin to be back...

Both of them are extending from what I've seen, one year deals. Talau will probably extend further, depending on what Garrick does. Not happening

    Pre-Game Manly V Warriors [Round 27, 2025]

Expect Simione Laiafi to debut in his place. Wasn't really too fussed either way this went. Sips has been a great club man, and it's a bit disappointing he couldn't get the century. The silver lining is this gun playing.

    Michael Ennis

Out of curiosity, is this view based upon what your sources have told you? My response is... Meh... I think everyone has recognised Seibs has reached his ceiling. He can't deal with adversity, but since we're a club of prima donnas', that adversity shall never cease.

I read the article, they say he's looking for a role with "more responsibility", aiming to be a head coach in the future. Given we were originally proposing him as our head coach, it means that plan is off the table. Someone else will be replacing Seibold. All roads lead to Matt Ballin?

    Who will win the comp

Surely you could want them to win, purely because of Fogarty and Weekes? That's the reason I'm going for them. Would love to see two past/future Manly boys get a prem.

    Joey Walsh

I really hope he's abandoned his God complex, because one of these Warriors players will probably be out to fold him. That complex will hinder his development. As I suspect he'll be here for a very long time, I want to see him develop well for the team's sake, even if I really don't like the...

    Pre-Game Manly V Warriors [Round 27, 2025]

I don't want Paseka to play, but I imagine he'd have one eye on representing Tonga again, and thus will want to play. Unfortunately for Tonga, they'll certainly miss Haumole, and possibly Koula too. Koula might return from injury right as the internationals begin, however. We have quite a few...

    2026 recruitment & retention

Would be a great signing. We need workhorses, he fits the mould exactly. I don't think there's anyone better who could've replaced Aloiai. Apparently Mooney was on $600k, so he'd have to take a pay cut to come here. Hetherington has a lot of potential, and has a good work ethic. Theoretical...

    Caleb Navale

Not saying Navale is worse than Aaron Woods in any way, but saying he should've been playing NRL in the place of Woods in 2023, when Navale hadn't even played NSW Cup at that point, is a massive stretch.

    Tommy Talau

A little interesting titbit about this proposal. Talau did an interview with Andy Raymond last year, and Andy brought up this option, saying Talau has the size for the backrow. Talau said that he'd prefer to continue playing in the centres or on the wing, while he still has the speed for it...

    2026 recruitment & retention

I largely agree, but there's a catch. I do think Waddell has something to offer, but only in the middle. He's had a few good games there this year. He's not exceptional at the defensive contact, but he has a motor on him that is excellent for a bench lock/prop role. If he's in and out of the...

    Tommy Talau

He was named on the wing, with Karl Lawton named as halfback. It was the most baffling team list ever, basically no one was in their named position. Actually, I disagree on this. His bomb kicking was pretty dreadful, but he was our only source of spark for that entire game. He was having a good...
