    If you don't pay players well you will lose these players. The nice guy mentality of expecting boys to take pay cuts is long gone. 1.2 is the norm for a quality halfback in the modern era and soon it will be less.

    If both were in Melbourne we'd all be seeing this differntly. When two players are dominating origin like these two did I'd argue they are worth every cent. Almost every halfback/fullback in the game is one 1 million a season. Even the ones who don't deserve that pay.

    Elgey is a very good halfback. He was playing really well for Gold Coast in the early rounds then had one defensive shocker in which he became the fall guy. At his best this season he was better then Taylor.
