I imagine that the club did, but for a start, DCE just said that he hasn't decided what he is doing next year. Having watched most of that interview, I am not convinced that he is telling the full truth...

It is Round 3... if true, why does the club need to have an offer on the table right now? Why can they not take the pragmatic approach of seeing how he continues to play as a 36-year old before making a decision?

So, the 8 years where he was the highest paid player in the competition courtesy of MWSE, occupying 16% of the 30-man salary cap, meaning that we had much less bandwidth to build a quality squad around him, ergo needed to rely more on star rookies and budget buys than other clubs... means...

"Many years" is debatable. Tom turns 29 this year and Jake turns 31. It is not unreasonable to suggest that given their age and physicality of their playing that one or both will be retired within 3 years.

    Line speed and ruck area

Fairly early in the game last week (and a lot of the time actually) our team didn't/don't look confident. They don't look like they're talking. Now I don't know if that's down to the coach or players but sometimes (and this is armchair psychology from someone who hasn't played rugby league) I...

    The Daly Cherrygraph

Each club has to manage their salary cap, but when you have a halfback occupying 16% of a 30-man salary cap for 8 years, then the club really has to rely on outstanding rookies and bargain buys to fill the gaps across the roster... and if they are good then those players won't remain at bargain...

    Post-Game Discussion Warriors V Manly [Round 2, 2025]

That wasn't great but I am more concerned about the injuries. We need to be winning the next 3 games at home or this season could start to unravel quickly.

Faulalo not physically imposing enough in first grade.

Too many mistakes. 6-0 in six-agains are not helping.

The Jazz thread ... all that Jazz

I should add that one game against ordinary opposition that conceded 42 points should not count for too much when making a meaningful comparison.

Should earn his way back in... as should a few other players. There's nothing wrong with healthy competition for starting spots and I think the coach is pragmatic enough to realise this.

Congrats to the plodders & Nepo

Was SST injured? He was very good but came off after 22 minutes and didn't return. The best part about these signings is that we have healthy competition for spots in the top 17.

I would be amazed if there is a better try this year than Ben Hunt's last night. But... the premiership isn't won in March either.
