2016 season vs 2015

[XV-1]

2015 vs 2016 season. Last year the media had Toovey and Manly in crisis, morale at Rock bottom. Toomey had lost the team. Foran leaving, DCE leaving etc etc

2016 we have won only 1 additional game. We have lost the last 3 matches.

Not a peep or any criticism from the media.

How will we go over the next 4 weeks against Raiders, Panthers, Titans and Cowgirls.
All away from home except Panthers.

Well if we want to give this comp a real crack and get back in the frame for the top 8 we need to win the games against panthers Titans and raiders who are in similar positions to us in regards to the ladder!

The difference between this year and last is ( coach aside ) and of course injuries, which of course the troops are coming back , is combinations. On paper 16s team is stronger and with lyon now playing 6 , there is no reason and excuses why we cant surge up the ladder. Ive said it all along once we click a few sides will be looking over their shoulders at us . The comeback starts next week.

In previous seasons I was only vaguely aware of teams such as "raiders" and "Titans". My brain would see those words and superimpose "2 points + a boost to for and against".

I am much happier this year because we have a lot more players who are young and potentially form the basis of a top team. Last year we had Jake and Tom as part of the young brigade plus DCE. Perhaps a couple we let go but we are now in a position to progress and much more advanced than the year before. I remember a decade or so back we had to beat the Panthers in the last round to make the 8 . They beat us Brookie by 60 or so. I believe they won the comp the next year although they finished below us on the table. The crucial point is the players they had enabled them to win a comp in the future. Possibly they could have finished above us that year if they retained some more experience, but so what. The future to me is more important than where we finish this year.
