The 1 good thing here - Freddy is a good judge of the game and rates 3 of Manly's new recruits as very talented players.

Hopefully can give and provide some extra confidence level for all four . But really hope that Brian Kelly has managed or tries some specialist sprint training over the off season .

Interesting point Ned!
I imagine it may give Lachlan a confidence boost and mental edge for the rest of the offseason, but not a hard and fast ruling from Baz to try him first. I sincerely think it will come down to the best trainer. The squad don’t get along with Hastings ‘personality’ but they know he can play so if he gets the nod ahead of Croker, hopefully the squad sticks to the game plan and just worries about the 80 minutes they need to put in for each other.
I like the way both of them play and they both play like out and out halves. I welcome the competition and raise the point again, it worked when Hodko and DCE had to battle it out for Orfords spot after 2008..

Cleary did a pretty good job of steering Penrith around last year and I think he was only 19yo.

Yeah, this is the way forward, strong competition for the starting spot. Thinking now we may be better off with these guys. Might be time to take he old dog Hodco to live out his days on a famr somewhere!!

I believe he was previously in the squad (2015), so they probably don’t see any benefit to having him there again.
