The way I see it.

Jazz, Taukeuahio and Chee Kam replace Woods, Lodge and Condon in the squad....those 3 played 10 games between them last year (5 off the bench, a total of 321 minutes) so I'm not too stressed....in fact I think we'll get better value from the 3 coming in.

I do expect 1 more in to replace Lawton (most likely Bateman).

A fantasy would be May on top but I think I may as well be hoping for Powerball next Thurs.
I think you are 100% spot on with this.

In my opinion the money saved from Schuster would have gone to upgrades for a few ( and I think we had to pay him out for this year ).

So yes what you have written I’d say is right , and Lawton was probably on $300-$350 SO if indeed the Tigers are paying half for the next 2-3 years then Bateman would be a very experienced pick up for us and fitting into our cap situation.

AND the fact it’s gone so quiet is a sign that either he’s staying ( unlikely with Benji ) or the deal is being done and it’ll be announced when he’s back in Australia probably late this month or early the next.

I think any chance we've had over the last 5 years to really challenge went out the door when we lost Api, Manase and Schu. 3 players of enormous talent , which we've not managed to replace and capable of taking a team to a premiership.

Well we can’t blame Seibold for that.

… and talent is no good if you are in jail. Surely we gave shu enough opportunities, but for whatever reason he kept putting on the kg?

Api … well wasn’t that Des fault

Just sayin’

Api , who was to know that Stabby McStabby was going to **** the bed , the choice at the time , the right one.

Schuster , jeez, I dunno , loads of talent , almost zero commitment, may be a bad decision but so far the right one.

The Jail bird was no coaches fault

The Api number 9 was Because both coaches persisted with the predictable and pedestrian Brave tackling bag Instead of finding a more comprehensive and dominant 9 .

The shu was given opportunities but players playing to their ability is not only about opportunities
It is also all about being motivated to get the job done
If Bennet the man who has ability to get players playing to the best of the ability gets the best out of the Shu then he will have exposed the incapability's of the Shus previous coaches

Recruiting across the Board including the Board is critical to a Clubs success because it helps ensure the right people are hired to achieve Premierships Winning Success

Let No stone be left unturned
All at a Club are Accountable for a clubs success or failure
Fail to act is to Keep on Failing and failing and failing to Win Premierships

Who is Holding us Back ?
Because we have not been able to get back to the Top of our game

More than Bennett over Seibold, if schu does come good, I think it could be from the psychology of a fresh start.

Unpopular opinion but I don’t think Schuster has the potential to be a star, even if he gets the mental side together. He hasn’t grown into an athlete. He is genetically incapable of being a fine athlete. People think fitness and athleticism is desire and hard training but there’s so much more to it. Genetics play a huge role in aerobic capacity and Schu has a really poor engine. Further, he does not have the fast twitch explosiveness required to be a running threat. He was one of those kids with silky ball skills and a bit of size that tear up the juniors but he’ll always struggle to have an impact at NRL level. His ‘caution to the wind’ ball playing is also only conducive to highlight reels on ‘flat tracks’ and will not stand up against quality defence in big games; that same strength becomes a liability.

I think he’ll float in and out of FG for a couple of years and end up in the UK.

I agree with @Disco that on balance our replacements for losses out of the 2024 squad, and the supplementary list, have more upside than the players that have moved on. I have Patolo as almost a direct swap for Woods, with Tevaga taking Schusters slot. The others are pretty well self-explanatory with Hopoate and Schoupp already taking Hodgson and Parkers slots mid-season 2024. Assuming Bateman and Pua'Avase both come into the thirty, does that still leave us two spots to fill before the June cutoff in 2025?

I think Seibold and co have done a pretty good job in reshaping the squad, improving our depth and bringing some real competition for spots in the seventeen. I also believe Seibold has moved on a total of seventeen players since taking over two seasons ago?

Overall I think, our 2025 squad looks a lot better balanced than previous renditions. It also looks far more experienced over multiple positions. If the 2025 squad works out as expected, we will only have two players in the 30 that dont have any NRL experience (Walsh & Pua'Avase).

Woods - Patolo
Lodge - Taukeuahio
Condon - Chee Kam
Hodgson - Hopoate
Humphreys - Walsh
Lawton - Bateman?
Brad Parker - Schoupp
Jaxson Paulo - D'Jazirhae Pua'Avase?
Schuster - Tevaga

Tigers are about a million under the cap but haven’t been able to spend it as all roster spots are taken. This is due to having too many younger players taking up roster spots and dreadful cap/squad management.

Now that May has signed on you would think Bateman is the man freeing up the spot being Manly bound.

This could be a massive win for us and for the next few years as Tigers could easily afford to pay a huge portion of his contract for the duration knowing their cap situation and desperation.

Tigers doing Tigers things. Roar! 🐯

They don't have a Top 30 spot free next year without someone leaving. Could basically confirm it now.
They punted young Jordan Miller who has two years remaining on his deal, was an article a couple of weeks ago that he is disputing the sacking via unfair dismissal.

Could be an administrator error on the NRL website for official signings, Ray Ray, MCK and SKO are in the 30 man squad, I thought the three of these deals were supplemental contracts.
