2027 Head Coach Candidates

Now that the 2 most common names floating around in Ennis and Ballin are off the cards, who do we think could become head coach for 2027 if Seibold is sacked?

I would like to see Willie Peters, don't know who the other candidates could be.

I know Ballin has elected to stay at the Broncs. Do we know how long?

I mean obviously we aren't going that power move of throwing massive cash at a guy like Ivan Cleary. Penn is so tight only dogs can hear him f@rt.

So we need a guy who is probably a first time NRL coach or at least is prepared to play the modern game of youth, speed and mobility. Obviously you do need some experience in the team as well.

Im not totally up to speed on who's left but obviously good candidates like Hannay, Ballin and Holbrook (obviously not a rookie but was unfairly discarded by the Titans) are either off the table or not being considered.

Willie Peters seems to tick a lot of boxes.

Either way keeping Seibold around as an advisor would be beyond stupid when he gets moved on as head coach.

Not much point in speculation. You can confidently rely on S. Penn to pick the worst possible candidate

‘Two clubs eyeing Broncos, Queensland assistant coach Matt Ballin

An assistant coach at the Brisbane Broncos, Matt Ballin, has reportedly caught the interest of two rival teams as he prepares to take the next step to becoming an NRL head coach in the coming seasons.

A former dummy-half for the Manly Sea Eagles and Wests Tigers, where he appeared in 220 matches over 11 seasons, Ballin has been regarded as one of the best emerging assistants in the competition.

This has seen him work in the Queensland State of Origin setup under Billy Slater and even be linked as one of the candidates who could become his future successor if the Storm fullback decides to pursue a head coaching role in the NRL.

Currently working under Michael Maguire at the Broncos, Ballin has attracted the interest of both the Gold Coast Titans and North Queensland Cowboys, who have recently axed multiple members of their coaching staff, per The Courier-Mail.

A move to either of these two clubs would see him work under either the newly-appointed Josh Hannay or Todd Payten.

“I have been coaching now for a while now since I finished playing, and the goal for me is to be a head coach,” Ballin said via the publication.’

Apart from intimating that Ballin played 220 NRL games at the Tigers, the two clubs he rejected were the Stockmen and the Old Coast Titians.

No mention of Manly on the coaching front.
