2027 Head Coach Candidates

It seems pretty clear that nobody wants to work with seibs. Even enis had a path to be head coach and left. Knocked back by others as well. Heck even sibs apparently doesn't want to coach ( maybe if he actually did it well one time he might like it).

Apathy abounds in 2026 with seibs who thinks that 50% is acceptable when 53% of teams don't make the top 8.

If it's true that players don't rate him then it will be a replay of last year, win games on the back of player talent but fall in a heap when the going gets tuff.

I can't wait to see him gone

Manly won a number of ‘tuf’ games this year (such as Storm, Pennies, Broncos), the problem was more that they couldn’t sustain the form against some of the lesser sides

And it sounds like coach is not lifting them up. Rewarding mediocrity instead.
Haven’t heard anyone claim Seibold is the coach of the decade but do you seriously think Cleary Bellamy and co would have got Manly storming into finals this year??

The fact Manly ran out of troops and steam and bombed out of finals yet came back to win the last 3 games suggests the players had not given up at all.

Tempting to think a shiny new coach is the solution to Manlys woes but I don’t buy it, the problems are deeper than that.

Having said that we’ll need a good season and finals at least or else a different voice should be tried

From the hill & looking at the big picture, winning an NRL title needs a lot of things that the smaller clubs just don't have access to. (far more than just a new coach).
That being said - go Manly 2026!

The way I see it is this:
- if it’s a happy club and the players are right behind Seibs, he does not deserve to be sacked on results. The DCE saga and injuries to the pack account for that.
However…
- if reports are true and a number of key players are not on board with Seibs, and support staff don’t like to work with him (all rumours), then he should be replaced with someone that is going to have a positive impact on culture. We aren’t winning anything with Seibs if he’s on the nose.

No one likes the coach when you are losing … just look at Des!

This is a fair assessment.

Although it must be said that aside from rumours, many players and coaches from around the country have said he's a poor NRL coach long before he came to Manly

When Seibs is replaced his replacement will be no one special or capable of taken us to a premiership.
The old saying you need to spend money to make money and our owner isn't willing to put the funds in to be a top tier club.

The place is toxic from the top down and anyone worthy isn't going to sign on unless it's a big payday which will never be offered.
We need a coach like Bellamy, Robinson or Cleary who isn't put under stupid KPIs and given the funds and control they need.
Those days went when Delmerge lost control of the club.
