Very rarely saw a player who just seemed relatively average in his early and learning phase at Manly develop into such a valuable and high achieving Manly i st grader and as in Gifty 's case . Had good footy ability but also a tribute to his no doubt excellent work ethic and commitment Shame he had to leave in less then ideal circumstances to briefly continue his career but such is professional sport and the salary cap requirements . Even with the great Beaver and the possibility of Ben Kennedy continuing his Manly career in 2006 or so , with the cap considerations could have been a distinct possibility he [ beaver ] could have moved on at that stage of his career . Pleased that did not occur then and Beaver got another shot at a premiership but again the reality and cap pressure situations with player retention sometime , even for the elite players and more so at the latter stages of their careers . Well done Gifty
