Disagree, again it's only newspaper talk that the Bulldogs are in pole position, apparently only met with them today so highly unlikely they'd know the ins and outs of that meeting.

He's on record as saying his head coaching days are over so it stands to reason that he'd be in demand as an assistant.
Surely he'd be on the radar of many clubs and he'd be stupid not to at least discuss his roles etc,

I'd say if he does come to us that we wouldn't be second choice at all.

I take your point about not being 2nd choice. However, I do believe that Gould (for reasons I don't fully understand coz I think he's a bit of a goose) seems to get people that he wants (or doesn't want) more times than not.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Is it reported on any other thread that O'Brien is supposedly leaning towards going to the Bulldogs. That's why I never believe anything until something actually happens. As usual, if Gould wants someone, he'll get them. So if O'Brien does come to us, we'll be 2nd choice.

Considering it was leaked he was speaking to manly & it’s now leaked again that he’s speaking to Dogs it should be safe to assume it’s coming from AOB camp.

It could be coming from the TJ55 camp, aka the C-B outliers in the M-W district.

Ha Ha, what a basket case we are ..... the wooden spoon winning coach won't even join us. Don't blame him though. That we keep missing people eg Ennis, Daley and AOB is a very poor reflection on the club, coaches, roster and playing group. No own rates us.

If he comes to us then we are his 1st choice. Kinda sad he doesn't want to head coach any more. For him I mean, must be so defeating. He did well at times but always had crap halves. Yeah finishing 10th I guess for an assistant there may be more appealing options, like the teams finishing higher. Maybe AOB is just exploring all his options first before making a call. He may have is pegged at the top of his list for all we know. Be dissapointed if it’s a $$$ issue tho. We will never succeed if the owner won’t dip a bit deeper in his pockets to invest more in the club.
