Is this really the future of Silvertails - ads that take up 40% of the screen space

Beyond frustrating and these infuriating companies will be boycotted.

Agree XV and very annoying especially when trying to post a comment. You click on the x to close it and no sooner another pops up. I understand Dan that ads now are a necessity but this is a little overkill the way as XV-1 says takes up so much screen space.

Just pay the money. I'm sure you could put 50 cents a week in a jar for it. It's the decent thing to do for someone who has put his heart and soul and dollars into the site.

I don't mind the ads but the problem on mobile is you press the x to close it, but they always open the link to thier website

Go to your icon at the top right and press on that and there will be a "account upgrades" option.

For ads that are intrusive let me know and I'll get them filtered out. I've noticed the same with the floating ad and I hate it

It's designed to be annoying as **** so you pay a membership. Membership isn't that much, and understand not everyone can afford it, so pay it or suck it really

I paid it.....didnt know it was an option till an hour ago but I dont like the rhetoric of just pay it.

From the sites view (Dan might tell me I'm an idiot) but you want revenue from rusted on regulars with membership but you also want high traffic with casuals which then contributes to ad sales. If ads become more invasive, casuals may just not visit.

From the users view, I think of a friend of mine, single parent, living week to week, budgeting to the absolute extreme. She wont buy herself a coffee out as not to waste money. $30 a year is an expense that is not critical. Surely the view for people like that shouldnt be suck it.

On my facebook feed an ad for a certain pharmaceutical company specialising in treating men's health issues pops up every now & then naming one or 2 of my matez as having "liked" them.

Given they seem to specialise in "kickstarting" bloke's "engines" & ensuring a "long drive" with "no troubles" I'd have thought a certain amount of privacy should be respected?

I think it would be situation that if @Dan had the bulk of regulars paying premium he mightn’t even need to have advertisements.
