Anyone here old enough to remember them trying to fit a baseball field into Parramatta Stadium??

Yeah they can tell if a player 30 metres from a kicker had both feet behind the kicker or not, but can't rule on a pass that is so obviously forward that Troy Aikman could have used it in a SuperBowl.

I swear, the only national league team from the Gold Coast that I have ever known to actually win their sports championship was the old Gold Coast Dolphins (also known as the Gold Coast Clippers, East Coast Cougars and finally Gold Coast Cougars Daikyo Dolphins) in the original Australian Baseball League that ran from 1989–1999.

They won the ABL Championship twice. That's twice more than any of the Coasts rugby league, basketball, Aussie rules or soccer national league teams have ever won their respective championships.

I didn’t mind the ABL back in the day, but baseball is destined to never catch on in Oz. Still follow MLB closely. Go the Stros.

I don't mind baseball, and enjoyed a few games at the Tokyo Dome in my days living over there... but, it's all rather a bit pedestrian compared to our winter sports, and cricket is too established to be supplanted by it, IMO.
