All NRL Games [Round 25, 2025]

Really, what players did they lose after their 2020 premiership? Then they added Stefano to their squad after last year's grand final. Their big three has now become a big six with Pappy, Grant, Munster, Hughes, Stefano and NAS whose reported salaries are chewing up over five million dollars.
Yeah, but you also need to look at all the other part players they bring in and lift to play a role… Grant. Coates. Anderson. Seve. Meaney. Wishart…. I can go on, but I’m sure you get the point. Yes, they keep a few key players, but their development of the majority of the team as role players is impressive.

Remember, Grant and Papps were not superstars when they joined the Storm. Neither was Hughes for that matter.

It is worth pointing out that the Raiders have had 1 good year followed by a handful of poor years (including a rebuild) for Ricky Stuart's entire tenure as coach. But their owners seem happy to continue extending his contract even though he has missed the finals 50% of the time.

In my opinion, they won't get a better chance than this year.

I agree in part that they turn okay players into very good ones. But Coates wasxaxstar at Brisbane having already played SOO. They also buy up the best Qld and NZ junior players much like the Roosters. Look at the representative players they have running around. They are full of NZ and Australia Rep players. They have Pezet who knocked back an $850000 contract playing third string halfback. They don't even acknowledge being caught cheating in the past. They are a filthy club who are afforded every opportunity to remain successful. With everything they have it would be a crime if they missed the finals.

No, Coates was nothing like he is producing now for the Storm. They do not overspend on already established stars. They wisely choose taking into account potential and character… and it is the latter character quality that I think is a major part of their success. Bellamy knows how to choose the right characters to fit into his system regardless of their reputation or achievements.

The gut feeling I have, the Storm are cult like with Bellyache having an hypnotic effect on the team, with very few leaving. And new players at the Rorters are welcomed in with Brown paper bags.
The Storm were caught at around 1.5 million over the cap in two of their premiership years and one record loss against us. They are proven cheats lol.

Coates debuted for QLD in 2020. He joined Storm 2022.

Bellamy would have one interview with Saab and work him out immediately (in fact, Saab would be unlikely to even get a meeting, because Bellamy would already pick up the red flags and eliminate him as an option).

Think it was way over 1.5 tbh CIiffy, every position in the Storm team was either a SOO player or international and or represented his country or Pacific Islands.

Andrew Johns is blowing up because Crichton’s try was disallowed at the end of the game.

His line of argument is ‘how are you supposed to re-grip the ball? If there’s downward pressure, it should be a try.’

1. Johns is only thinking ‘re-grip’ in the context of Crichton’s one free hand but the referee is speaking generally; he doesn’t care how it’s done, or if it can be done in every context, he’s just making a point that it needs to be done or it’s a knock on. If you only have one free hand and the ball hits the ground simultaneously, it’s bad luck.

2. If we apply John’s logic to the field of play, every knock in that occurs in the game can be negated by simply reaching out to push the ball on the ground…sounds really plausible 🙄

The knock-on rule gets more ridiculous every season, thanks to CSI scrutiny. In the eyes of officials it's near impossible to knock the ball backwards these days.
If our eyes can't see it why not play on?

How obvious is the agenda in this game?

Angus Crichton takes Hopgood out on the kick chase then Smith takes out Smith when he’s chasing Walker in goal yet it’s “NOTHING TO SEE HERE, PEOPLE”
