How annoying is watching a Leichhardt game on TV. Apart from the stupids in the crowd just booing everything and everyone, the bloody music every stoppage...full bore. . Watched it on mute in the end.

Not a unique problem, it happens in pretty much every game. Some venues worse than others (in music choice as well).

Sure the crowd expect to see and hear a show for the price of admission, but it can be a bit much...

Arthur is actually as bad as Tanner Boyd.

Tanner isn't special but Arthur is light years behind him.
Jokes aside, this is just further evidence of the incredibly awful recruitment we have had. If you combine it with Johns, the idea that someone thought these two guys were adequate back in a first grade roster beggars belief.

You might be able to hide them in a club with great systems but in a joint like ours ... just wow!

Manly's recruitment has been underwhelming for years, and those guys were never going to be challenging DCE for first grade. Even as capable backups they obviously failed to bring bring good standard, such as quality backups like Sandon Smith or Pezet.

But it's a little harsh to say they were never worth signing. Don't forget Storm had johns in their squad for 3 years, and Arthur was selected as halfback in a grand final (yeah I know they lost). Yes in hindsight they were crap (as players) and yes, do highlight the long term problems Manly has had in trying to assemble a deep, quality top 30

Did you see the part in my quote about good systems .. Storm has the best and very very ordinary players find the ability to fill a role.And Arthur was the coaches son at Parra lol.

We have zero systems ( or that's his it looks) and if we do it is the antithesis of the Storm system.

Buying average players with little upside as back up to an ordinary aging first grade side with little direction is folly. I'd much rather butcher the money on perceived potential .., most likely the same result but at last there is a ray of hope.

I cannot see how anyone could have looked at Arthur and see anything but absolute and utter mediocrity.

Yeah fair point. I think they said they thought he might have some versatility for other positions, hasn't done that yet of course. The other thing would be 'culture' wise, both those boys might have been seen as good for that.

Certainly agree that spending on perceived potential is a good way to go, but I suspect that is also a more expensive way to go, if the Fainus are any example. To get young potential for the same price as journeymen you'd have to sign them several years before they're ready for 1st grade?
