Calling someone a monkey isn't racist. I call my cat monkey because he is nimble, cheeky and good at climbing. If it was said, I doubt very much that it was meant in any sort of racist way. Mam will withdraw his complaint.

If its a person of colour then it is racist.
There is a huge historical context to the use of the term monkey/ape to dehumanise people of colour.

The way it’s been reported there is no way he will withdraw the complaint and nor should he. If it can be proven Spencer won’t be playing anytime soon.
