Thanks for the spamming but I am a member and this doesn't impress me much.

I'd prefer if they upped the quality of the crap they provide if they are going to provide it. The kids pencil cases were paper thin. Same with that bag. Good that they were personalised but the materials were pathetic...

Firstly congratulations for being a club member and I wish we had more Great Manly people like you as this is what helps make clubs greater . God bless you feathered friend !!!

Secondly I have mates from the South were I live that are Souths , St George and Sharks members and they have similar and no better member packs than ours

Thirdly , Private message me your address and I will personally buy you and send you what pencils cases and other things you want replaced if that is real an issue for you . Problem solved !

Last but not least .......

Seeing that our Manly fans are the least committed in NRL club membership numbers doesnt impress me either . Bloody embarrassing and the worst spam ever

I don't need things replaced. I'd like them done well the first time.

And other clubs producing crap and using that as the benchmark is just being OK with a low bar. How about setting a high standard and making other clubs aim up with the quality..?

I read your post and thought "personalised? really?" and got the sports bag out to check to see if my name was on it (like an idiot). lol...cough

I did have a chuckle when unpacking it, I've never seen a bag so thin. No kids = no big deal for me. Doubt I'll use it even though I ticked that box.

Considering how easy it is to get actual cotton bags or totes I just thought they were pathetic. Where do you even source that garbage material? I'm guessing a paper mill.

They actually missed an opportunity. Do a cotton members tote that you can take to the shops for groceries now they've cut plastic bags. Easy!

I see your point and this is mine

How about us Manly people setting the standard for other clubs by becoming club members and getting 3 times as many Manly club members that we have now instead of having low quality fans that are responsible for our club being the least supported in the NRL

We all have gripes

You have the quality of the pencil cases

I have the quality of our supporters that are doing a great dis service to our club

I'm not sure who your posts are aimed at but really, who are you hoping to win over. There are many VALID reasons why some on here have not joined up and many more as to why our numbers are down the bottom. For those of us who can't make it to Brookie this year, we simply don't count towards the total (unless paying for a ticket we will never use). This also includes those in and around Sydney who find getting there a bridge too far and/or not worth the effort. There are also plenty of reasons why other club's numbers are much higher than ours: larger historical catchments, associated and discounted club memberships ans stadium access to name a few.
Ultimately I think Manly's membership numbers are probably the most stable in the competition and there is value in that, our supporters don't just jump on board with success and if we were to ever hit real danger of collapsing I have no doubt that our supporters would do everything they could to prevent it from happening (if they could indeed do anything).
If you truly want to improve membership numbers, then perhaps you should try engaging with peoples issues and concerns rather than simply spamming everyone with your views on memberships.

I bet the pen looks classy though, doesn't it? @

To be honest I take my pen at work with pride as it has the Manly Sea eagles name on it

Our lowest fan club membership support in the NRL . is what I do not consider too classy

Thank God for the other Penns who are investing in our club as our other Manly people are showing no interest in parting with their money and becoming club members

I don't think they do a great job with community engagement. My kids go to school across the road from the cafe they all hit in the morning. Wouldn't be hard for them to pop in for a clinic on a sports day. Nope. They should have a goal of hitting every school on the northern beaches each season. Squads are big enough and the season is long enough that this is possible.

Apart from the schools - the northern beaches is a pretty concentrated area for a lot of things. We've got one big mall, two if you count Warriewood. Make a few appearances through the season, set up some passing games and get the kids into it. Same at Brookie Fair (no showing that is disgraceful). There's a big easter egg hunt each year at Narrabeen... There's heaps of stuff they could pop up at. They need to really start local because they really take their home for granite*...

*shout out to Rick Sanchez

The pencil cases were my main gripe because it was something they could take to school but one of them ripped before the school year even started! Just review the quality of the members merchandise and aim a bit higher. I'd rather pay a few bucks more for something that will last.

Edit - the personalisation was a great idea. Just disappointed in quality.

@MuzztheEagle

This is no spam or sympathy story . This is a real life story that represent all committed club supporters

Years ago I got divorced , I had to remortgage the house , I had to work 2 jobs in order to keep up with house payments and child support

I was devastated , I was flat out working and every chance I got I looked forward to seeing my children that i missed so much and had no weekends off due to my pub bouncer work and never got to see my beloved Sea eagles play

What I did have though was my burning passion for the Manly Sea eagles club and from the little money that was left over from my debts I still managed to keep renewing my Manly club membership which made me feel happy that I still belonged to our club

The moral of the story is

All people from all clubs face challenges in life that halt their progress but it should never stop us people from giving up and striving to keep moving forward and doing the things we are passionate about

I hope you understand where I am coming from

God bless the Manly Sea eagles !!!

We all understand where you are coming from, what we are questioning are your methods and their effectiveness on the board.

You can’t force people to join but we won’t be a force in the membership stakes compared to some because of the seating issue at our home ground.

Brisbane, apart from being a single city club, have a 52,500 seat stadium and membership ( forgetting the fluff stuff ) offers significant cost savings and advantages.

We are I believe facing a somewhat losing battle.

@Loobs - feedback is below, PM your details as per below

Unfortunately we have received similar feedback on the pencil case and the cooler bag. We have been replacing these to anyone who has had an issue/fault with the items so if @Loobs is happy for you to pass on his Member number/address we will more than happily replace the junior pencil case.

We have already flagged our concerns with our supplier who have flied out from Melbourne and met with us in person surrounding how we can improve our items in 2020. The items with zippers were a major concern for us as we have had to reissue a number of products. They have taken samples from our stock and have promised us that we will have a better supply chain moving forward (timely & true product sampling, etc). We expect 2020 to have a considerable increase in product quality.

2020 Member product demand is something we will cover at our next Member Council meeting so any additional feedback you come across would definitely come in handy.
