Another player requesting a release - David Klemmer

He would be on some serious money at the Dogs, still a top liner but just does not seem to have the impact or dominance this season as compered with the past couple of years. Still seems like an unlikely scenario for him to be leaving the Dogs right now. Certainly better then Nate but would no doubt want more coin too. However , anything is possible in club land at the moment and i could be wrong on all counts.
The Dogs will have to release players for the signings they have made in Foran $1m and Woods $900k(ish) - yes they lost Reynolds but more has to come and they have a long forward list and are skinny in the backs. I'd say this has Bozo written all over it.

No matter what we think of some of these players, a person of his calibre is what a team needs to win the "big" games. Look at Fifita in the SOO the other night.

Sounds like a story generated/fabricated from Klemmer's manager and/or a bored journo.....!!!!

I would think that this will get sorted out very quickly, if any of it is even true.

Anyway, he can be a good player at times and then at other times not so good. Just too inconsistent and not worth the coin he would want.

Klemmer doesn't have a manager, negotiated himself like Corey Parker.
The papers reported his extension was 2 mil over 4 years.
If true 600k for two years might be enough to get him.
Then he would be 26? Going into his prime and could command top dollar.

If woods is worth 900k Klemmer has to be worth atleast 700k?

Klemmer wants to be at the front

Forget the denials about David Klemmer wanting out of the Bulldogs - the Blues State of Origin star has been telling teammates he has been unhappy for some time.

There are two main issues for Klemmer - firstly a third party deal that is in danger of collapsing and secondly the fact that Des Hasler is playing him at lock.

Klemmer is ‘old school’ and wants to play in the front row - but the Bulldogs are top heavy with front-rowers and have another top liner in Aaron Woods joining the club in 2018.

Klemmer wants to move back to the engine room but Des Hasler won’t hear of it and the power forward wants to move to a club where he can play front row.

The Tigers have money in the bank and are in need of a prop following Woods’ defection - and at this stage appear to be Klemmer’s most likely destination if a release is granted.

If we could snare Klemmer, we could let Myles and BJ go without concern. Then we sign up Harawira naera to strengthen the backrow and it's happy days.

If we re-sign Taufua, we have the backs covered so we should be able to give Klemmer an offer he can't refuse.
