Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have secured the services of 22-year-old prop Aitasi James on a two-year deal.
The 188cm/110kg forward has played five NRL games after making his debut for the Wests Tigers against Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at CommBank Stadium in round 19 this year.
In his five appearances where he played between 20-27 minutes, James averaged 52 metres, had 98 post contact metres, averaged five hit ups, and had a tackle efficiency rate of 95 per cent.

“Aitasi played some NRL for the Tigers this year after starting there on a train and trial. He was very consistent in the NSW Cup for them,'' said Sea Eagles Coach Anthony Seibold.
“He comes highly recommended to us as a young front-rower.
“Aitasi reminds me of Junior Tatola when he came to South Sydney from the Tigers. He has a similar body shape and is a similar type of player.
“He has got that potential already. We are giving him an avenue to try and reach that potential.”

Reported in the Signings thread. That Aitasi has signed with North Sydney Bears before June 30. If that's the case Man must have promoted someone internally into the top 30. As June 30 is one of those dates a club actually needs to have 30.

It's ok, we fans don't have any right to know who is in our club's top 30 😡😱

Aitasi will be a solid NSW Cup player for them.

Not sure if it common knowledge but once a player plays first grade from a train and trial contract, they have to be upgraded to the top 30 squad. So that means Lodge would of been one of the players moving in

Ahh ok. Another difference between the old train and Trail and the newer termed Train and replacement term we were all trying to work out what the difference was at the start of 2024 I think it was.

And so this immediately upgraded on playing "replacement" only applied to Train and Replacement contract? ie doesn't apply to a Reserve grade contracted player if they got called into A grade?

Idiots on Instagram and co are already dogging the club for "letting a young forward go".

This guy is a reserve grader. He's been signed by the Bears, and not an NRL squad, for a reason. People assume that the younger forwards in NSW Cup must all be bustling hardworking leg speed types, who are just waiting for an opportunity... However sad, it's not the case, because we cannot seem to develop them.

Just because they're there, doesn't make them good. His debut was rubbish from memory, and an injured Waddell looked on another level to this guy.

Not sure who is harder to get information out of,the NRL or Manly.

Ouch! That last sentence is quite brutal!

Just sayin’

He has had his shot but just hasn't lived up, why there are fans complaining about him leaving makes my mind boggle he isn't like Navale or a highly rated talent.
