Canberra really is a basket case. I wonder if they should merge with Cronulla?
Of course Illawarra would be an obvious merge, if St George would let them.
There is a lot of talent in the region but very limited support for RL and no TV presence. Merging them would allow a second team to be formed in Brisbane, where competition is drastically needed.

No idea if Gift has coaching aspirations, but he'd have the respect of players and that's a pretty good start. Maybe 2016 or 2017...
