It all comes down to money. Penns cant afford a premiership winning coach so decide let's take another cheap option in Cartwright. This is exactly why I won't renew my membership next year because in the end Penns aren't serious in making Manly the power house team that we can be so why would I give the Penns my hard earned money?

1. Winning % as a coach less than 50%
-> Barrett came in at a ZERO win rate, so Carty must be gold!

2. Laugh's when we are getting flogged
-> Carty was merely 'FEAR GRINNING'. It's what monkeys do when they are angry.

3. BIG part of the drinking culture
-> And who doesn't like to have a few drinks with your mates and get pranky and rapey?

4. Brought a known bully in Ferris to Manly , who then systematically bullied Willie Peters out of the club
-> The midget had it coming.

5. Does not have Manly blood / culture
-> His time at the Tits was all cocaine and sand. How different is that to Manly on a Friday night?

-> Carty is generous and likes to see young men smile and hug. And if he's head coach he won't be the defensive coach.

The Penns have obviously been Savvy business men at some stage.

I see this scenario far different for good reason.

The next coach should be seen from their perspective somewhat of an investment.

You go cheap with Cartwright = lose games....gate and merchandise diminishes greatly...long term viability is questioned with even greater scrutiny.

You pay more with Maguire = win games....bigger gate and merchandise.....sponsorships...win back prestige and the brand becomes far more valuable monetery wise and Manly win back much needed credability.
