Obviously Tom will be the 1
But who will be 2, 3, 4 and 5
Saab gets a wing
Koula, Garrick likely centres
Talau has been good as any 3/4 the entire season once he got an opportunity
Lehi will be back in 2 weeks as an option also and can see him maybe getting a 14 -17 spot, very classy player and can fill many roles.
Be interesting to see the Manly lineup if all stay healthy by round 25

Rarely does big posts worth reading....maybe
Turbo
Saab
Garrick
Koula
Talau

This is the first-choice back 5 imo. Lehi Hoppa has been sensational, but is the easiest to drop given where each sits in their performance/careers.

2 of those are club-leaders (Turbo/Garrick)
2 are high-performers with big futures touted at the club (Koula/Saab)
Talau has arguably been the signing of the year.

Lets hope oldmate John doesn't get in Lehi's ear about his market value ahead of time, ala Albert. I like what I see from Lehi a LOT more than Albert though. He's worth a solid offer in coming years.

Great problem to have…….
Trbo
Saab
Garrick
Koula
Talau
Hoppa
Faulalo
Great backline depth
Turbo is numero uno and he gets the number one
There is no Saabstitute for speed and he gets number two
Garrick is a Gun and he gets number three
Koulas Killer speed gets him number four
Lehis Finesse gets him number five
Talau and Failalo are great back ups to have
The Parker and Harper era has been well and truly superseded

If it was the case of Lehi or maybe less likely Talau to be considered for a bench spot , would then probably result in Gordie or Simpkin not included there .
Assuming Froggy comes back in to the run on side and doubt that Seibs would then go with a utility outside back and a set positional 9 on the bench .
Other conjecture naturally would be either Lawton or Burbo starting in the backrow , and one of these and Brown , Bully , Sipley ? on the bench .
Assuming everyone match fit and available .
Sure is going to be some serious considerations for some of these game day 17 positions coming up soon

That's what I was thinking too, if Ben is on the bench presumably he bounces Lawton onto the bench at some point. Then after a bit of a rest Lawton comes on at Hooker. You would think based on that at full strength it's either going to be

14. Hopoate - Backs cover
15. Ben - Bumps Lawton to Hooker
or
14. Simpkin - Hooker
15. Ben - Backs / SR cover

Serious question and I’m not kidding. Does Garrick have photos of Seibold?

I’m at a loss. I can’t remember a player playing so poorly in a position and continue to get picked.

If we are serious about winning the premiership for the love of all things Manly put him back on the wing.

Actually thought he had improved massively the past few games. Still a bit sketchy in d but he was dangerous with saaby on his outside.

Just looking at the different 1-5s and lineups in general, as much as I’m pretty skeptical about seibs taking us anywhere meaningful, i will say he has done a good job of adding depth to the roster. Especially in the outside backs.

Personally i’d lineup the 1-5 as:

1 - Turbo
2 - Saab
3 - Koula
4 - Garrick
5 - Talau

Lehi unlucky to miss out, so to Faulalo but there time will come.

If I really had it my way i’d switch Garrick and Talau, but its clear Garricks extension he signed a year ago was made with the expectation that he’d be playing centre which is what we wants.

Didn't we do this conversation a few weeks ago?

DCE isn't a good enough goal kicker so Garrick has to be there.

Hopoate to miss out unfortunately.

Things may change for next year as Hoppa Jnr is a star.

It will be an interesting selection for the coaching staff, you need speed on the wings.

If you were to rate the players on their season it would be a hard conversation for Seibold to have with two players in my view, both Garrick and Koula haven’t had their best season in 2024.

1. Turbo - hoping he ignites on the run home and into the finals.
2. Saab - speed and his return carries have improved ten fold this season.
3 - Koula- good talent but hasn’t had the season I thought he is capable of, with Turbo hitting form this will help Koula getting some more space.
5. Hoppa - If Garrick isn’t playing wing, Hoppa has more speed then Talau and returns the ball well.
4. This one is a toss up for me, Garrick hasn’t had a good season where Talau has performed above expectation, Garrick is the best winger in the squad his move to centre has been hit and miss, doesn’t read the opposition teams attack and has been exposed several times. Talau has done very well, is a centre for me, his lack of speed shows he isn’t a winger despite his strong ball carrying, on form Talau deserves the centre spot though Garrick is respected by the senior players and most likely gets the jumper.
