Barrett spray the wake up call Sea Eagles required

Earlier this year after a dodgy first half their was footage of Barrett kicking an esky. Let's just say it wasn't a great esky kick, in fact, a duckling could have kicked the esky harder. I thought after watching that perhaps Baz needed to attend an angry coach spray training course.
When eskys are kicked the lid should fly off followed by the assaulted object slamming sideways to the floor with ice and gatorade sliding across the dressing room. I was disappointed in the kick.
This season I've warmed to TB a lot. He seems to have united our players. I hope the spray was a lot harder that the earlier esky kick, I hope he threw it at someone's head, and that our team pulls their fingers out and play like Manly men this Sunday.

The real question is how full was the esky. If thats an esky full of ice and beer and you kick that and spill beer everywhere in front of footballers, you have bigger issues than a lost game.

It might just have been a genius play by baz. Kick their refreshments just hard enough to let them know you mean business, without taking away the motivation of post game beers. 😉

I just hope the players actually took notice of Barrett's spray - unlike on Sunday, when I believe his message at half time was "don't give them a sniff" and then they went out and not only gave them a sniff, they gave them the game on a platter! :swear:

Thats fantastic... someone needs to put Baz's head on Pitt. Don't know who the player would be dancing on the table though....?

Well....the guy in the movie got traded, maybe it could be Nate Myles! lol cough

(yes, yes, Nate obv wasn't involved in that loss.)

Things like this worry me, they have a history of going one way or the other, especially with a young playing group. Probably not a bad time to do it before the Dogs game, that should be a hard one to lose if they have the right attitude. Let's hope they come out pumped up AND maintain the intensity.

But the esky full of beers is in the shade of the Manly Leagues Club.

Sure young until they start performing .................and they then move on because someone makes them a ridiculous offer or we end up with salary cap pressures!

There should be a rule you cant go off to a better contract until you've given us the equivalent number of good years as you gave us bad years!!

(there are professions that do this ;-)
Hookers?

There have been a lot of words said since Sunday and the players know that their actions will determine a turnaround in performance on Sunday. I think without a doubt the fact that TB has not yet re-signed is a bit unsettling for the team. Without knowing the facts. I expect that TB is waiting like the rest of us to see the outcome of the cap investigation and the club is probably not prepared to finalize any contract until the outcomes are decided. This is why it is urgent that the NRL get this finalized one way or another. I think if TB does re-sign it will be a big step forward for this young team.
The NRL will come up with the salary cap decision the day after Manly is knocked out of the finals. It's inevitable.

I'm glad T-Baz gave the boys a spray instead of a demonstration of his pushup prowess, but really, let's withhold judgement as to whether or not it's the "wake up call" the team required until AFTER the next few games. I'm always nervous when we get too far ahead of ourselves.

You really wonder why professional sportsmen with so much on the line, like last Sunday, can't stay motivated for the full game.

Last weekend's capitulation wasn't the first one they've experienced in the last two seasons.

How many times do they need to 'learn' the same lesson before they switch on?

Imagine how long you would last in a $120k+ job with the attitude of yeah-nah, think I'll have another off week...again (politicians and Dessie aside who have a bad week 52 weeks of the year and take 3 years to be given the arse).
