Champion foward Ben Kennedy has knocked back a golden opportunity to top up his retirement fund by $1,000,000 with a farewell season in his orginal sport, rugby union.

We can reveal today that Kennedy's manager Mick Newton has been secretly sounded out by the wealthiest clubs in the japan league about the prospect of playing overseas for the coming year.

"he could earn $100,000 a game and they only play 13 matchs a season" newton told us.

"But Ben is not intersted. He's got a young family and he is not keen on going overseas".

Kennedy was rewarded for outstanding services to Manly by being named as part of the clubs greatest side at a funtion last night. He was chosen on the bench.
