Big Haumole into Top 30

First Grader
Heard the same mail twice over the weekend, 1 from a solid contact, the other a Manly bloke with good connection to the club.
Big, raw talent Haumole Olakkautu could grab a spot in the Top squad of 30.....and his ability has caught the eyes of those who count at Manly.
Also Winterstein maybe on the move....

If that is the case we definately need to fast track a nick name for him ...or find out what his team mates call him ..

more info on Winterstein? Maxta - where to, how soon, how much does that give on the salary cap, does it have anything to do with us buying a centre when Walkz gets his Walking orders ($650 less what already paid plus same for Winterstein)

Well we only have one spot left as the Top 29 has been finalised. Guacamole has a development spot, so after June 30 he can be promoted to NRL without having to jump through a lot of hoops you had to go through previously. Personally I can't see us using our last NRL squad spot for another backrower, but you never know.

We need another half in the top 30 C and C.If the 12 seater the halves travel on crashes we are totally f....d.

I’d love some more info on the mystery man Kioa in the three quarters in the top 30. Any word on his progress? Funas use in the top 30 last year was very strange. Was never even mentioned all year despite our woes out wide.Hopefully Tevita gets a chance to show his wares this year.

My understanding is that Guaca is a front rower. We are down two of them already - Tent and Tango.
What about Baldy Saunders? Is he playing for our feeder team?

Good news on both fronts, I have high hopes for Haumole and expect him to taste grade this year.

I have no hate for Winterstien but as best he simply fills a slot with no real impact. Better Haumole takes his spot and we free up some cap space

My last memory of him was wearing the #11 in the Holden Cup ...

Yes I’ve asked before about Kioa

A back apparently but that’s all I know.

Don't know that Frankie would free up a lot of space, thought he was on about 250-300K,and doubtful the panthers would take him without us contributing some this year.Wonder if moving Frankie is for Gauca to take his spot in the 29,maybe it is also to sweeten the rumoured upcoming deal for Schuster?Upgrade him to a development contract for this year and allows him to train with the NRL squad after the Ball season ends, gives him some extra cash this year for a little less next year?Gives us a chance to maybe also give him a little taste of top grade later in the year depending on the situation....

Penrith has signed giant forward Frank Winterstein from Manly as an 11th hour replacement for injured forward Viliame Kikau.

The dynamic Kikau will miss the start of the season with a knee injury and the Panthers have swooped on Samoan international Winterstein.

A Bulldogs junior, Winterstein is a veteran at 32 but his experience should help the young Panthers pack.

He has played over 150 top grade games, both in Australia and in Super League, as well as nine Tests for Samoa.

Winterstein has played the past three seasons at Manly but the club was happy to move him on, with Des Hasler feeling his roster is top-heavy with forwards.

Winterstein told his Manly teammates by text message today that he is joining the Panthers.
