Got pumped again. This time by Norths. 32-12.
Can someone tell me why we need Blacktown? They are terrible and are not our reserve grade side. They don't pick the left-over Eagles in their team.
I think Funa, Croker and Anderson have all sat out the first two rounds of the premiership.
I hope we can cut Blacktown free at the end of the season. Really, it's like trying to mix a Liberal with a Labor politician. It just can't work.
Let's get an official relationship with Canterbury in NZ and develop a Reserve Grade team with them.

Generally respect your thoughts mate but have to clear up this post.Blacktown do not choose to leave out Manly players,Manly is the dominant member in this partnership and call the shots.Blacktown plays the players that Manly allows them to pick from the Manly squad,if they don't allow players to be picked for injury concerns or whatever that is Manlys' decision.It is not Blacktowns call to provide info on why Manly do not allow players to be picked and for what reason(maybe take it up with the club or members on here?)Manly were the ones who chose to name players in their squad who were coming back from serious injury or suspension and might not be available from the start(Olakau'atu,Croker,Kioa,Hopoate,Koroisau and Fainu).Manly were the ones who allowed players to go before the start of the season(Kelly,Winterstein).Manly are the ones who have a player facing criminal charges and is not available for the majority of the season(Walker).Manly are the ones who messed up the salary cap and are playing $350K behind the 8 ball.Manly are the ones who have many players injured in preseason and struggling to be fit or unavailable(Turbo,Anderson,Paseka,Tanginoa,Waddell),Blacktown only have 2 players from their squad unavailable,maybe we should hire their fitness trainer?As to yesterday,Cust was unavailable at the start of the match and with Massey cup being played on sunday last minute call ups were going to have to come from Manlys' Flegg side and so we had our hooker Ott playing 7 and Metcalfe went off after 10 minutes and a lock/hooker from the bench(110kg Tonise) played 5/8 for 70 minutes.It was actually a pretty good performance to actually be competitive for as long as they did...

I was there for the second half. Perrett is really effective in reserve grade, our one forward who had good penetration and always offloaded. His defence was great as long as the player ran straight at him. Not so good if he had to move laterally.

Blacktown had an even share of possession but our halves seemed incapable of using the back line, everything was through the middle. Boring and ultimately ineffective. They often made 70m a set but couldn’t score.
