The reality is that the Storm were really the only side that played with enough consistency and discipline to win the majority of the games they should have won. Every other side in the 8 lost games they really should have won.

Yeah watching 360 last night I think this is what Ritchie was referring to in that this years 8 being the weakest. A better description is that it’s probably the closest in that any team in their day can beat the others. Storm only real consistent stand out.

As for us not getting the job done against the more lowly teams, I guess it’s better than 21 where we couldn’t get it done v the good teams.

It is a bit strange this year tho as sharks game aside, I’ve def been more confident in the games v the better sides this year.

Yeah I’ve been carrying on about this as well. This year felt like a huge opportunity lost. We’ve only finished in the top 4 once since 2014 and this year felt like our best shot.

A fair reversal even from the year we were turbo charged and finished in the top 4 where we could not beat any of the top teams

The flip side is we are ranked 2nd, in the ability to beat the Top 8 sides...
Clearly shows the side is good enough "On the day", yet bad enough to lose to the worst side "On the day"......pretty much sums up the best teams in rugby league where the difference between a good and bad day is not too much.....like a 9/10 good and 7/10 bad......opposed to Manly being a 9/10 good and 3/10 bad......these stories tell a true story in the end unfortunately.

We made the finals and that kinda feels like a win (what a sad state of affairs right?) but then I look at the fact that we finished one spot (1 1/2 wins) in front of the knights (who imo are really a quite sh*t footy team with one star player) - and about 3 wins outside of the top-4 - and it really does not feel like we did well this year despite, at times, feeling like we had a real chance of going deep in finals...

Of course, none of it really matters now and hopefully we have saved our best footy for these next 4 games (😉)... I am definitely more hopeful than confident tho, given our lack of consistency...

The only thing between us and the bottom 9 is TOM TURBO
Most of the teams in the bottom 9 would be in the 8 if they had TOM TURBO

The team can play but struggles to compete on a regular basis.

Too many box tickers and KPI performers in our team
