I think it was more Briggs than having anything to do with Green. Green seemed pretty pissed off. He should never have fought Briggs anyway and I guess got what he deserved

I think we can all agree that boxing has lost it's way.  I remember the event that a Tyson fight was 20-25 years ago.  Now no one can care - I wouldn't have a clue who the heavyweight champion of the world is (given there are probably seven).

Boxing has always been the most shambolicly organised of sports, and the most susceptible to corruption, exploitation and shysterism. Yet it has always thrown up some classic encounters. You don’t have to delve very deep into modern boxing history to see these problems have always been there. As for the current lack of interest in heavyweight ranks, this is probably in part due to charisma shortage and in part due to the dominance of Eastern European types. Not so much for the usual American promoters to get their fangs into. When the next great white (or black) hope surfaces, watch the Don Kings leap back into action.
