does sepsis really knock you about that bad that he’s forced into early retirement?
Yes it does, I nearly died from it in 2006 it curtailed a lot of my adrenalin sport participation ... then again I am 73 ... but seriously .... its very hard to totally eliminate it from your system ... I couldn't donate blood for 10 years after I had it

Enjoy your retirement from the game Scorpio you were a favourite of mine, 2021 was awesome from you, and you suffered a few bad concussions that season, especially the one from Matterson. I hope you have a continued involvement with the club, a great role model.

Good on you Brad, a strong player for Manly in well over 100 games. Derided by the odd ignoramus for your lack of explosive speed but most Manly fans know that very few opponents got the better of you.
Importantly - had the smarts required for centre play. The number of times players such as Suli would cause tries to be disallowed due to running the wrong line used to do my head in! But Brad's attention to detail usually had him in the right spots at the right time.
Well played!

Courageous debut matched up against a powerhouse winger at the time , the Warriors Manu Vatuvei seemed to typify his ongoing career , basically fearless and determined ,
Then that great try saving tackle on the Eels Sivo a few seasons ago , another example of a full on approach and plenty of good moments right through his Manly career .
Really thought that he may have made a better go of the transition to an edge but does not detract from his really proud record of being a loyal and fully committed Manly local junior and stalwart for many seasons now .
Done well on any measure

Not many players have genius, creativeness in this sport, what most coaches and supporters want are players that have heart, have passion, who will put their body on the line for the players inside and outside of them. That player is Brad Parker. Hope the next life gives back to him and his family. Happy retirement.

The NRL body on the line Heart perspective

The majority of the NRL players do have heart and put their body on the line as this is the nature of the Brutal NRL beast . The ones that shy way from the big hard play do not last long in the top grade
No coach keeps picking cats

The majority of the players are not all over six foot and and 100 kg who put their smaller frame on the line against much bigger opponents
