This is getting absurd now

The Roosters have signed Brett Morrid to go with Ryan Hall in replacing Blake Ferguson

Two internationals to replace a guy we were all told was on a small contract as the Roosters rehabilitated him.

They now have Tedesco, Tupou, Mitchell, Manu, Hall and Morris to fit into 5 spots

that will do me

He may be getting on but can still find a tryline, he would be a nice one year pickup for any team.

Just thinking out loud, I wonder who would win a theoretical game of Roosters V Australia or NZ. Geez their recruitment team are good!

Yep... Fergo’s contract amount is listed at $300k. They have Cronk on 1 million, Tedesco on 1 million, Cordner on $800k, Crichton on $850k, Radley has just signed a five year deal, Keary on $700k = 4.35 million... plus whatever Radley signed on for. Then there’s Latrell Mitchell, Joseph Manu, Daniel Tupou, Ryan Hall, Brett Morris, Stickyasshole, JWH, Dylan Napper, Butcher, Aubusson, Jake Friend and the rest of their squad who have to fit under the cap. Absolute farce... the game is crooked.

Or increase the cap to include the TPAs and force the clubs to publish ALL player contracts and payments.

This is how the NHL works and their player contracts are massive compared to the NRL.

The RLPA will never agree unfortunately.

Back in the day it was Manly who had wall-to-wall rep stars. Before the cap, of course. (Actually so did the Chooks, even back then)
Nowadays though we raise the egalitarian working class flag and cry, Down with the Rich!

Fergo signed for $300,000.
Signed an extension 2 months ago for $950,000 a season until the end of the year.
So him leaving frees up $950,000.

Morris signed for $125,000 a season for almost 2 years and will resign an extension in June 2020 for $950,000 a season so when he leaves at the end of 2020 it will free up $950,000.

Manly gets witch hunted, hounded, investigated and then heavily penalised for alleged breaches of TPA's, yet clubs like the Chooks can sign every available rep player out there to high priced contracts and the NRL doesn't even bat an eyelid.
And they keep repeating the lines, "It's one of the closest competitions in the world." - what rot. "Any team can win on any day." - Ironstines - depending on the opposition of course. And this gem from the Turdburglar today "and almost impossible to know who will be the premiers in 2018."
Well duh, it is impossible to know who the 2018 premiers will be in July but this sporting mystery will be revealed late September and will most likely be one of the current and predicted top four.
Grrrrrr.

I found your post oddly erotic. Please...tell me more.

Interesting response.
They, the NRL, just make me angry mozgrame. I need to see less of Greenberg's head and more of Manly winning. That's all.

I'm the same.

I thought I'd give you a perfect opportunity for you to end this thread with the same sentence that began it...."This is getting absurd now".
LOL!

I am with you 100%.This a joke and next they will come out and say its a level playing field and dont forget they just resigned that young bloke Radley for a few more years as well. Its just a slap in the face for us. Toddy wouldnt have the balls to go toe to toe with Politis, no way

There was a company in the USA that used the same accounting principles. It was called ENRON...

You are not fooling anyone Mr Greenturd.

The NRL isn’t the Olympics. It’s not about fair and even competition. It’s about the advertising and, especially, about the gambling. Having strong teams and weak teams makes it easier to frame a market. All the roasting and cheating can be glossed over. Maybe it is the Olympics.
