Brian Kelly - A Winner

"dearth"

Brian Kelly is working out quite well for us so far.

I think one of the commentators said it's been 10 years since there was a 'Brian' in first grade. (Ah well, such is life, Brian.)

But for me, Ben Kennedy will remain as 'the BK.'

I think Brian should be known as:

"The Bri-zizzle Kellstermeisterino." (Hyphen is silent.)

That pass last night in a clutch moment. Wow. I can't stop watching it over and over. So much class.
For a young player, that was an audacious run into the middle of the field. It totally threw the defense and opened up the corridor for Walks to streak through.

Walks' anticipation was also amazing. He starts his run as soon as he sees Kels head inwards. Looked like something that they may have done at training a few time.

Wonder why the Titans let Kels go? He seems to read the play, which is rare and has speed to burn.

"It's one of the rarest plays in modern rugby league, but the Sea Eagles showed in their 18-12 win against the Roosters on Friday night that there is still a place in the game for centres to link up in attack"

"With scores level and the game destined for golden point, young gun Brian Kelly stepped up and delivered the most important pass of his career to send fellow centre Dylan Walker into a huge hole for the match-winning try."

I thought the try he scored the week before against the Dogs was brilliant. Nothing was on and DCE was crabbing across field and Kelly just hit a hole and made something out of nothing...not many centres in the game hit holes like that anymore...they all try to beat their man on the outside...it was an old school "footballer's instinct" type play from a kid with only 4 games under his belt.

Sure been solid previous games, but Aitken has been busting some quality defensive backs - gave Jack Bird a bath against Sharks and busted Blake against Penrith 2-3 times.....Kelly can tackle, but was up against it in a team that lost the fight in the trenches...
Felt Manly were beaten up through the middle, which done Kelly no favours as they were retreating backwards, due to the momentum Illawarra created through the ruck.
Copped a lesson on the night and will come back better for it.

I felt sorry for the kid. . Got a bath from aitken but he is young and will bounce. What really annoyed me though was when the dragons scored their 3rd try (second down kellys side) and that ****wit debelin ran over to Kelly and was patting him on the head and yelling out to his team mates and laughing. .. the kid had his head down after that and disappointing not to see someone have a word to Kelly to pick him up and or someone snap debelin in half!
