ManlyArmy is correct, the Council are not involved in the funding of the CoE. However they are funding the playing surface upgrade (still on the books for this financial year) and a new perimeter fence. The current fence is a WH&S timebomb just waiting to blow up in their faces.

Nice to see them adding their collective voices to the Penn pile on.

BTW, this isn't a go at our club or team in ANY way, but the disparity in government funding from electorate to electorate based on voter(s) preferences. Completely annoys me. We should have enough to extend that stand all the way around the ground, possibly with closable roof for all events / concerts / public use into the future.

This piecemeal crap is deplorable.

Mate, I was there one year, where this Souths fan (heavily pregnant) stood up at that fence along the hill, and the wire caught her skin and tore an almighty gash from her. Her husband was NOT happy.

From what I read in the local paper the Councillors are not happy with the Penns suggesting a name for the new centre, which is being built with taxpayer's money on a ground owned by the Council and paid for by ratepayers.
I see their point.

They want to name it after themselves.

Had a job to do Manly this morning, picked up a case of 4 Pines NB Lager from the Truck Bar and thought I'd drop in for a squiz. Couple of youngsters taking shots at goal and some others a volley ball net. Can't wait to get back to the footy next year.

Would love to see some of that sponsorship money go towards fixing that retaining wall, giving it a steam clean whilst they’re at it, then replace those lovely hardwood benches from 1970 with some individual seats from the 21st century.
