Thanks Jethro.I just came across the following video on youtube and I thought that I would share it with everyone:
Thanks for posting…that was awesome especially the brawl at the end….moral to the storey is don’t **** with terry randall and Stephen knight …good to see Ian thomson sitting Boyd on his arseI just came across the following video on youtube and I thought that I would share it with everyone:
He didn’t miss him did heDonnelly with his standard come from behind king hit act.
Dont forget that Randall put up the bomb for our only try in the 1978 GF Vs Cronulla. Thanks Jethro.
A rare Terry Randall kick at 3.40, and you can see why they were rare.
And Boyd doing Boyd things at 7.30.
What a dog shot that was. Knight wasn’t having it.Donnelly with his standard come from behind king hit act.
Sure was….and his tough talking on the fibro vs silvertails documentary was a joke when he clearly never wanted to go toe to toe with Randall or Knight. In fact none of them did…cheap shots only .Also Knight was a golden gloves champ so he was never going to be intimidated .i hope someone interviews Randall and gets his perspective on those years as he really avoided the media and let his actions on the field do the talking. Randall as a youngster on the 72 roo tour sat big jim mills the English hard man enforcer on his arse with a great right cross which started his reputation as the number one enforcer in the game.wally Lewis also reckons the hardest he had ever been tackled was by Randall.Bob Cooper was a thug
In 1982, Cooper was suspended for the equal-longest period in rugby league history, of fifteen months, after he ran in to join a brawl and left three Illawarra Steelers players flattened during a match at Wollongong showground.
Thanks for that. Didn’t realise knight was a boxer. Just reading up on him again - I also didn’t realise he played his junior league at Manly (Narraweena) before going to rugby then the magpies. I always just assumed he was a wests junior. One tough bugger, as of course was Igor, the toughest ever.Sure was….and his tough talking on the fibro vs silvertails documentary was a joke when he clearly never wanted to go toe to toe with Randall or Knight. I remember Rugby League Week had standard questions they asked a featured player every week ' Who is the hardest hitter/tackler in the game and invariably it was Igor.Sure was….and his tough talking on the fibro vs silvertails documentary was a joke when he clearly never wanted to go toe to toe with Randall or Knight. Steve Knight and Robbie Parker were intimidating centre partners for Manly Rugby 1st grade - I had the honour to train with them at Manly before I went to Warringah coltsThanks for that. Went down a rabbit hole yesterday Looking up Knights background, and found this which features Robbie Parker as well.Steve Knight and Robbie Parker were intimidating centre partners for Manly Rugby 1st grade - I had the honour to train with them at Manly before I went to Warringah colts
Oh for the days when the footy was organic & not this engineered product we see today. Each game brought something unexpected & made the listening or viewing a much anticipated moment. I like my footy but I can take or leave todays coverage. I remember tape recording the Manly games with Alan Marks commentating & then my brother & our mates would act it out in the backyard to the commentary. Just don't get the same buzz with todays coverage.I just came across the following video on Youtube and I thought that I would share it with everyone:
