It’s also about having 30 players signed for just under or on the total of the cap and that’s a delicate balancing act. We’ve let 7 players go, so replacing them with 7 others that are collectively on the same amount, is very difficult. We might have a squad place for him but if he’s signed for 600k, and the last space is for a 350k player, it ain’t happening.

Letting Tommy Talau walk was about having a bit more cash for new forwards. Not on big money but both he and Sips would have been well over minimum, so that's a little bit of spare change for Manly?
Croker could be the final piece. I get the impression he really wants to keep playing on but might only be delaying the inevitable.
