First half? Average at best.
Second half? Good, bit lucky and the roosters fell off and let us in. Pearce's grubber that went dead was the turning point - we scored off that 7 tackle set, plus bundling that rooster back in goal was another momentum changer. Against a better drilled 80 minute side I'm not convinced we would have won but hey a win is a win and a confidence builder going into the final rounds of this season.
One whinge: DCE is paid a lot of dough to create chances and when he made that great break late in the first half - he was closed down but he needed to find an option - even a kick ahead.
There a mostly non whingey, semi positive post from me. Happy? Whatever.

Wow, just knocked off 2nd place and we were lucky.

This is why we have the Knockers thread
Hey Fluffy - the PC disease has fully infected this site and you've just fallen for the trap. Anything other than a glowing dazzling positive post here is immediately slammed and shut down. Go read my post again and you may find (if you take your PC specs off) that's it's far from a knocking post.

Yes, we were unlucky not to have a 30-40 pts win out there today. Still an above average win +- nonetheless.

We've beaten 2 of the top 4 sides at least our defence baz me man was much better today. We need to get that winning roll on again before the semis.

Sorry mate but your just a whinger from that post i just read. Down 18-4 to come back and win 36-18 against a very good side was a terrific win and can really kick start our charge towards the semi's. We were also unlucky not to get another 3 more tries in that second half. After the last 2 weeks it was a huge improvement. Would not of lost to the dragons if we played like that .

For mine it was the energy in defence and attack that was the real improvement. More numbers in defensive and less arm grabbing and in attack everyone moving up looking for the ball. We didn't lose the ruck as much this week and let off loads get away. When the roosters got good play the balls and off loads they looked dangerous and they should they are coming second for a reason

We need to do that week in week out from now on. Control the ruck and stop the off loads and we look much better in defence

Besides the Storm, no team in the comp can consistently play perfect footy. You need to be happy when you knock off a team in second position, if you cant be happy after that then I feel sorry for you because supporting footy team is suppose to be fun. I bloody loved it!!

Not sure I ever said in my post that I wasn't happy torana355

If we can put together 80 minutes of that second half we'd be capable of beating the storm, we just need to build to that point over the coming weeks, a huge period for us here, major chance to come into the finals firing

Today was all about attitude, for 60 minutes it was fantastic and to be able to fight our way back from some serious self-inflicted adversity was nice and character building. The good thing is there is much room for improvement and this team is learning valuable lessons.

We generally play well against Easts and Cronulla, and poorly against Illawarra.
Easts are a very dangerous team, and were missing Cordner, Friend and Gordon. Surprisingly, they also had Kane Evans in reserve grade, and he carved up when he felt motivated.
Having said that, today our lads showed great character and made me very proud to be a lifelong Manly supporter.
