Depth

1978

Reserve Grader
For the first time in five years, we have genuine depth at the club. Bring on 2018.

Not just journey men players bought from other clubs, but real talent groomed in our systems over several years.

Consider our emerging Manly team over next three years:

1. Jade Anderson
2. Tevita Funa
3. Brad Parker
4. Brian Kelly
5. Jade Anderson
6. Tom Wright
7. Jackson Hastings
8. Taniela Paseka
9. Manese Faniu
10. Toff Sipley
11. Jamil Hopoate
12. Jack Groweski
13. Haumole Olakaúatu

14. Ben Trbojevic
15. Joshua Schuster
16. Albert Hopoate
17. Kaeo Weekes

And compare its long-term NRL potential to the depressing depth we've had in recent years from journey men.

1. Tim Moltzen
2. J Wright
3. Williame
4. Tony Satini
5. M. Wright
6. Issac John
7. Godinet
8. Luke Burgess
9. Hodges
10. Starling
11. Nathan Green
12. Hasson
13. Blake Leary

14. Jack LittleJohn
15. Willie Mason
16. Chee Kam
17. Sene Lafeo

We're looking like the Manly of old under the great Bonzo.

Replacing known plodders with potential is all good but we can't expect them all to turn into world beaters. Love it, just a word of caution

Looking at that Journey Man list is certainly an insight as to why we have had to turn over our roster in the last two years

I would argue Chee Kam and Hodges were considered "real talent" when they signed which reinforces Ricardo's point that not all these kids will make it

But yes, great to have some exciting young players coming through

Can you please put the C (captain) next to Hasson.

What are you on about mate all those positions should be filled with out and out stars all big names! (Jokes aside the juniors and depth looks great)

Depth is fantastic BUT I’d be very surprised if we can keep the all, in fact 1/2 would be excellent but the simple fact is they will be on the hit list for clubs such as the Rorters who don’t have much by way of juniors.
