Yes, it’s pretty much unanimous on here.My Die-hard manly mates are calling for the 3rd coming of the man himself back to Fortress Brookvale
Is this the general concensus now?
On paper he ticks the boxes, cant get much more Manly DNA than Dezzy unless Tooves comes backYes, it’s pretty much unanimous on here.
It would be the funniest period on Silvertails for years. My Die-hard manly mates are calling for the 3rd coming of the man himself back to Fortress Brookvale

I agree that Des has lost touch but I think Bennett has been working with some pretty average cattle for the last three years. If anything, what he did with the Dolphins was remarkable, given they missed out on almost every marquee signing they went after. This year’s injury toll at Souths is unprecedented. He started the year well before the injuries and it’s finishing well with some cattle back. I think he’s still got what it takes to be effective. If there’s one thing his Souths stint has revealed for us, it’s that a champion coach cannot offset a lack of quality in the roster. It would be the funniest period on Silvertails for years.
80% of us respect him for the past but know he’s a washed up old fart, living the game of 2010.
20% would think it was the third coming of God ( sorry @God)
It would only go one way ( the same as it did for you guys , us in version 2.0 and now the Titans), but sure bring him back and watch the continual slide into oblivion.
Him & Bennett
Living in the past , unable to manage the current game and how it’s developed.

I remember being @ Brookie oval the night of the 2011 grand final waiting for the players and looking up into the stands and seeing Des & Penn sitting there alone in deep discussion. Thought to myself then that the rumours were correct. That germ Greenberg had got into Dessie's ear. What an A-wipe that bloke was. Ruined Des's legacy from me for all time. Was negotiating his deal during the finals series.
Really? Must be a glutton for severe punishment. Be like getting back with your old wife.....for the 3rd time. Exclude me from any "Welcome Back" party. Some things best to stay in the past.My Die-hard manly mates are calling for the 3rd coming of the man himself back to Fortress Brookvale

There’s a few on here who would love him back , but really , it’s only a few.Really? Must be a glutton for severe punishment. Be like getting back with your old wife.....for the 3rd time. Exclude me from any "Welcome Back" party. Some things best to stay in the past.
Poison arrows , OMG, just the thought of that cracks me up.Ha ha ! The thought of Dessie in PNG. They wouldn't know what to make of the mad professor up there. They'd be shooting poison arrows at him after a loss. Been there many times on business. It’s a basket case of a place and TBH, that's being a little unfair on basket cases.
From my personal experience, I think he would make an excellent CEO.I would certainly prefer Des Hasler as a ‘Head of Football’ over Seibold. What has the latter done to date to deserve that prospective role? Little doubt though that Penn and Mestrov wouldn’t have a bar of Des 3.0.
Plus his style of management might be too much for some of the other people around him.
Those performance clauses might not stop Des from engaging the lawyers. He always feels hard done by, and he loves a legal stoush. I joked months ago that he'd probably sue the Titans players, starting with Fifita, for being sh#thouse and thereby stopping him from meeting his coaching KPIs. He might not go that far, but you can bet your life he will be wringing every last cent out of the Titans he feels he is entitled to.Didn't Des's contract have performance clauses in it. Coming last put paid to any thought of Des going around again in 26.
Ive seen Des working on a close up basis he really doesn’t do “ support “ as it’s not in his makeup, he’s an absolute control freak.I think it is very very unlikely Des will ever be a head coach in the NRL again. Especially if Josh Hannah makes an immediate impact. Des will likely still do alright coaching in the English super league. Hopefully he is at some point in the future offered/ takes up some kind of support role at Manly.
