Top 8 will be up there again. Phins, Eels, Goons, Cows, Tigers, Souffs will all improve. We will go backwards. I expect 14th.
Similar expectations...

Eels (with fit Moses look fantastic), Cows (MUCH better squad that seriously underperformed) and Bunnies (cannot possibly have as many injuries next year) will all pass us by I reckon...

maybe the tigpies (improving squad) and dragoons (lost sooo many games by less than 8pts this year) could also (they both beat us this year)..

that would leave us in front of knights (who we continue to lose to) and the tits (who also beat us this year)... jeez, thinking this through out loud has me more worried than I was....

No. The teams above us on the ladder aren't going to be significantly worse and there are a bunch of teams below us like Eels, Tigers and Rabbitohs that will improve. Also, I think that by July it is likely that Seibold will be sacked and we'll have another season derailed and disrupted by off field crap. Season 2026 is a going to be a bad one. Real Bad. It will be Barrettesque ..... Bottom 4 for sure. Good time to be in the lube business. Bad time to be a Manly fan.

I think we will improve enough to make the finals next season. Obviously, we need to have less off-field bull**** going on and more luck with injuries.

In my opinion we also need to focus on bringing our younger players (Bryan, Walsh, Navale, Laififi, Large etc) into first grade earlier in the season, and give them real minutes onfield when doing so.

I also believe 2026 could be Seibold's last season as coach if he doesnt more effectively develop our younger talent coming through.

6th-8th

Right now I wouldn't say it's a better list. Although each year its not really playing ability that causes our season to go south. Or is it?
I agree with this. It’s not a better list.

What it is though, is a better balanced one, especially if we can get Moale across the line. Paseka will be like a brand-new signing too, a borderline Origin prop finally fit and firing. Turbo was carrying a knee injury all year, and for once he’s put Manly first by taking the time to recover properly in the off-season. I think we’ll see a lot more from him next year.

We finally have some middles who can go forward with high tackle efficiency, and they don’t look as lumbering laterally as we’ve been in past seasons. Across the squad we’ve got depth in most positions. Hooker, halves and second row are still light, but even there we’ve got some likely youngsters coming through.

The side will be far better organised with Fogarty running the show, while still having plenty of individual attacking brilliance in Turbo, Koula and Haumole. There’s strike across the park. The question has always been whether we can lay a platform and not totally capitulate in defence.

Adam O’Brien, while many sneer at that signing, is actually a well-regarded defensive coach. I think he’ll be a big addition. The biggest question mark for me is we still have a lot of players suited to the 13 role, solid defenders but not great at making metres. You can really only fit one of those types in a side.

Brooks will need to improve or make way for Walsh. I’d like to see him add more to his short kicking game and expand his toolkit beyond just running.

All in all, I think we will improve. There’s no excuses for Siebs this year given the ‘weapons’ he’s got at his disposal.

We should improve a fair bit if we have a bit of luck with injuries. Recruitment has also been smart considering the lack of elite talent off contract for 26.

8. Paseka (will feel like a new signing having him back)
9. Simpkin
10. TKO
11. Ola
12. Ben
13. Jake
14. Navale
15. Bullemor
16. Hetherington
17. Moale (likely to get a early release for Fifita)

Compare that to our pack & bench that ended this season

8. Lodge
9. Simpkin
10. TKO
11. Waddell
12. Ben
13. Jazz
14. Walsh
15. Navale
16 Bullemor
17. Schoupp/Sipley

Our 2026 pack would beat the p*ss out of them IMO. Waddell, Lodge, Brown, Bryan, Laiafi are all solid depth. I said it on here a month or so ago but I also heard we are 1 of the teams keen on 21 year old back rower Harrison Hassett from Penrith. Australian school boy & won Penriths SG Ball player of the season a few years ago in a very talented team

I think the 'Fins will be the big improvers in 2026. Injuries hurt them this year, but when they were full strength they were an attacking juggernaught. And next year they get Cobbo from the Donkeys, and Flegler is apparently ready to resume playing.

Cobbo over rated (IMO)

in the same vain you could argue that Manly were cruelled by injuries to their pack (which happened to the weakest part of their squad) and that the DCE debacle destabilised their season, and they could be big improvers.

Dolphins were the most entertaining team to watch this year IMO before all of the injuries

You could yes but, apart from Tent, we had our first choice forward pack when we lost to knights and tits in rounds 14 & 15…

Chez had less impact on our results than everyone wants to attribute imo… we had the same consistency issues we have had in previous seasons and we will likely have them next year too…

I hope to God I am wrong (metaphorically rather than theologically) but I do not see a top 8 side on paper next year… and we will likely have just as many injury problems again (it is kind of our thing)

Losing Herbie pretty much cruelled their season… he is Yeo and Crichton wrapped into one player for the Phins…

They have just added George Williams which, while Kodi was good for them this year, could take them to the next level…
