We can improve. I've seen evidence to suggest the club knows where the squad weaknesses are and we are signing players as such. We have a few juniors coming through.

But to me our problem seems to be consistency and mentality rather than the individual merits of the squad members. If our players actually get told behind closed doors that winning 50% of games is good enough (as suggested in press conferences) then finishing between 5th and 9th is as high as we will finish.

That would be an improvement on 2025... But if the core issues aren't addressed then we'll just keep getting false positives and we won't ever be serious contenders in the medium-term.

We’re not going to improve if we don’t sack the media manager.

We are going the exact same way as the Tigers, if that idiot doesn’t get his act together. Literally everything is leaking, and we cannot control a narrative to save our lives.

Who would want to join the club given the Turbo fiasco? I know the truth about what’s going on, as well as the rest of you, but think about it from an outsiders point of view.

We are a club that Jake Turpin refuses to go to, with DCE and Turbo, absolute club legends, at odds with management. In DCE’s case, to the point of leaving the club.

I was leaning towards us being in the 8-12 range again, but we are seriously teetering on bottom four if we cannot fix our image.

Sacking Cuzzo (hope he is doing better) for this muppet was one of the worst decisions the club has made in recent years.

The media narrative is worse now, than it was after the pride jersey, which is unbelievable. We were one win out of the eight. Imagine if we actually were bottom four!!

The lack of improvement will continue unless seibold changes his ways, If he continues with croker when fit at hooker, jake as a first pass receiver and 80 minute player, garrick as a centre, and saab in the 17, nathan brown in the 17, waddell in the 17 we are in for a long year.
we were a better side in the games we won with jake out , he still should be in the team but needs to be rotated with a impact bench player like bullemore

For as long as we have a coach that’s satisfied with a 50% win rate nothing will change. We don’t have a style of play that we are building towards. Our coach thinks he is the smartest man in the room and continues to coach a game focused on tactics to beat the opposing team. Our ownership is also too focused on public perception and business performance. We also have a leadership group who have never seen success and therefore can’t commit to their goals. A prime example of this is the DCE debacle. They made a big call to move on from him but as soon as they felt the pressure they decided to call up a fox sports show and offer a last minute contract. I love the club and bleed maroon and white but the current decision makers couldn’t find success even if they wanted to. Until our owner is willing to prioritise Winning instead of giving his friends roles I can’t see things getting any better, unfortunately I can only see it getting worse. Regardless I’ll be there to support my team but I do hope things change so my son can experience the feelings I got to get around that 08 era someday.

With all the that has been happening I can only say the following:

Current recruitment, the non development of younger players and players coming and going more going than coming ! And too whom they have promoted to the Top 30 not to mention dev contracts

Recruitment
The recruitment critical must be or close to a) injured or in rehab
b) played most of the previous year in QLD or NSW
c) mid twenties to late

No NSW Team locally
My opinion we don’t have enough for NSW cup team ???
If you disagree name the players spare ?

Are they planning a QLD team ?
Seem to have alot in common with the state of the late?

There’s an old saying run a organisation with clowns and you will have a CIRCUS !

Watch this space !

Haha what?

Our squad isnt finalised but still

1.Faululo
2.Willet
3.Large
4.Kioa
5.Wilson *sounds like it is happening
6.Wakeham
7.Walsh
8.Bryan
9.Zaidas *rumours he is leaving
10.Laifai
11.Hart
12.Waddell
13.Brown

14.
15.Pua'avase
16.Sykes
17.Mafoa

Then you have players like Konz, Hayley, Swann, Metcalfe, Melrose.

Not included the injured Schoupp and who knows with Lodge.

I honestly have no idea how you could reach a conclusion we dont have players for NSW Cup

Incredibly special "incomprehension" skills, perhaps?

Agree with the rest of your post but I doubt very much anything said at post-game pressers can be relied on as to what goes on behind closed doors.

Coaches usually just saw whatever comes to mind to take the heat off after a loss. Some coaches go on the offensive, some just say whatever.

I never place much stock on what is said in post match pressers.

Professional sports teams (& players) don’t train to go out & lose games.

This season in particular was very bad in regards to our consistency & putting the lower teams to the sword after building a good lead in the first half.

I reckon the black cloud over our season was down to DCE & I’m optimistic that next season that cloud will have moved elsewhere.

Problem with rugby league is it’s a simple game at its core. Run hard, tackle harder. It’s all about the one percenters not the trick shots. No need to reinvent the wheel at manly just need to implement some mental toughness and good culture.
