Police in British Columbia say they have responded to over 60 sudden deaths since Monday, including many seniors.
They said the heatwave affecting the region was a contributing factor to the fatalities.
Temperatures in Lytton, British Columbia, soared to 47.9C (118.2F) on Monday, up from 46.6C (116F) on Sunday.
Before this week, temperatures in Canada had never passed 45C (113F).

some cool respite (finally) yesterday.

Temps down to around 30 (which is still high for us) but much better than 40+ from the last few days.

Even a cool breeze in the afternoon and it was 19 degrees at 11pm last night and not the 30 it has been.

Tragically (and so far) sudden deaths are at about 400 (300 more than usual for this time). Not all of them will be heat related but, as reported, there's been a lot of elderly found in badly ventilated apartments.

Also tragically, the town of lytton (Pop. 250) which endured 3 days of all time record high temperatures for Canada, was engulfed by a wildfire (bushfire) and basically the whole town went up super fast.

this heat dome is moving East, so lookout Alberta and Saskatoon as it's heading your way!

It's currently 17 (overcast) here at about 10am whereas previous days we were already in the mid-thirties.

17 is still hot for us though (lol)

Why is hat red? .. embarrassed to be seen with you? ... did you wash him with your undies?

It's to contrast with the glacial green waters and when it's all said and done... it makes my eyes pop.

ps - who has time to wear undies? luxury!
