He has been a top player over there and someone that I suspect would handle the transition well. The knee reconstruction is a concern; however, if he can get back to his previous form - then great. He has just started the back-end of his career, yet still young enough to have pace and agility along with maturity and experience from which to draw upon.
We would be in the market for a back I suspect, so you never know.

I would put Watkins in the same category as Ryan Hall, very good players who have left it far too late for the NRL, for the money they would expect.

I'm thinking he would take less coin for the opportunity to play NRL than he might otherwise expect for SL where he has well and truly proven himself...
Could be wrong but he profiles well for our team I reckon... keep either DW or TGN and move Suli and Garrick to wings...
(I prefer DW and KW combo but might need to free up some coin by offloading DW)

No comment until I see his you tube highlights. And if it hasn’t got a hip-hop soundtrack on it, he’s obviously a dud.
Based solely on the 3 major criteria for a successful NRL player ... Haircut, tattoos and highlight reel sound-track .. can you give us your informed opinion ...
Hate to say it, reminds me a bit of Mark Gasnier. The in and away, the deft passes to his supports, and some decent speed.
The downside, no half-shawn haircut, no neck tatts(or any that I could see, shocking). and my ears are still bleeding from what started out as some quaint gaelic tune, morphing into some meth head anthem crescendo.
I’d rather keep Walker, and tbh an area of weakness is suddenly turning into a bit of depth if we have Walker, Suli, Parker, Elliott as options with young guys coming through

I'm stoked with the improvement those guys have shown this year but to my mind DW is still the only game breaker in that list (and I'm not convinced that he is as electric as he once was)... this guy has some Mark McGaw or, as Wombat pointed out, MG to him...
Would need to be for the right coin but I reckon he will be huge pickup for someone and I hope it's us... at 28 hes in his prime, Killer was 28 in our 2011 premiership...

If Watkins came to the NRL he would probably sign with our equivalent to the Toronto Wolfpack.
The Raiders are starting to feel like an overseas team- like an ESL Barbarians team. I have to say it’s a commendable recruitment strategy by Sticky and the Green Machine that must be increasing interest and viewership over seas. It’s paying off on field for them too. Surprised more teams haven’t followed suit.
I think we are good for centres but at the right price I think Watkins could still have an impact at an NRL club
