Why do we have 2 touchies then if we need to go to the video ref to determine forward passes??

I'll put my neck on the line here and defend the refs in the middle, they are not always in the best position to determine passes and in a lot of instances are unfairly critisised for calls they are not expected to make.  Let the forward pass calls be that for the touchies to make, what else are they there for apart from determining where the ball leaves teh field of play?

The video ref is a shambles at the moment without having to call on forward passes.  Give them this added responsiblity and the game is completely in the poo.

The pass was forward by the way, good old fashioned square-up!

IMO it was clearly forward. If you are in any doubt then have a look at Foran as he crosses the line. Most players concentrate on grounding the ball. He was clearly looking back at the ref expecting to be called back.

It was just another F*ck up by the refs. One of many on the night.
