Goal Kicking Duties for 2018

Gday Fellas haven't posted for a while. I thought this is a serious issue for us in 2018.

We have several players who are OK in this department but they are no sharp shooters.

1. We have Dylan walker out injured at the moment who i assume would have been first choice.
2. Api and and I hear Bryan Kelly do quite well also.
3. Matt Wright but only got into the side when Jorge Tafua was out injured last season.

I noticed on the weekends trial Hastings had a corner conversion which hit the post and then when we scored our next try Matt Wright took the next attempt which I couldn't understand.

Both Hasting & Wright are unlikely to be in our top 17 anyway.

So now i am hearing during office season training that Jake Trbojevic has had the best conversion rate out of anyone else available within the club.

**So will Jake be our goal kicker in 2018 if so he is a freak.**

Like to here everyone's thoughts on what other options we have, so many games comes down to a few points and i feel our inaccurate goal kicking could potentially cost us a few games.

Pick your best 17 and give the kicking duties to whoever feels lucky ....

works out at around 1 point a game between an average kicker and top kicker (70-80%) so pick the best from who you have in your top 17.

Only need to let in a try and you have lost far more

Unfortunately same story different year. Poor goal kicking which may be costing us games.

I think if M Wright is in the team whilst Walker is injured he will get the kicking duties.

Once Walker returns, Api or DCE.

If Jake can kick 90%, what's the issue?

You’d assume 90% in training might equate to 75% in a game situation under fatigue (at least to start with), then over time he might get it up to 80%. Works for me given our other options.

Kelly's name is getting a mention this year. You can understand that he had enough on his plate last year. Must have something going for him to all of a sudden be in the mix.

Sio Siua Taukeiaho Manages to play lock and kick goals, as did Corey Parker. If Jake can really kick at 90 per cent, Brookvale Mazda should sponsor his kicking tee. It will be great advertisement. But I do wonder if Jake only takes his kicks from straight in front though;-)
