Gone Tonight

I never backed any horse, my angst is with the club as a whole.

Doesn’t matter who is coach whilst the ownership is the same we are ****ed!!

I just don’t happen to think it all rests with one man.
Disagree mate . At the peak of the boardroom battles Des won premierships
A quality coach does make a big difference .
Now go and have a beer and chill out and smile from ear to ear :hi:

Gus Gould conned whoever signed him up, into believing he would make a huge impact ,he has but unfortunately at the wrong end of the scale
Trent was a rookie coach with potential .
We have seen enough of his potential
We wont see any club that is looking for a head coach looking at Trent that's for sure

Interesting view from @readingtheplay:

Barrett seems untouched in all the debacle at Manly. Yet he has spent much of last 18 mths talking to other potential clubs about his next coaching role (inc Bulldogs, Rabbits, Panthers & others) - maybe a focus on coaching & the task at hand & not his ego was required? 1/4 #NRL

Barrett released Green against best advice. Splintered his playing group over Hastings. Lost on occasions many of his group over his questionable focus elsewhere.. The club ownership, funding, politics, & shambolic admin has much to answer for, but so does Barrett.. 2/4 #NRL

The latest stalemate & media leaks & posturing is due to Barrett seeking a severance payout, after he gave notice many months ago. He’s been told (rightly) to stick it where the sun doesn’t shine. So, …once a win or two arrived the leaks & destabilising started, again.. 3/4 #NRL

Reality might be that the coach has always put himself first? Is it all about him, his success, his next deal? No doubt he’s surrounded by a complete mess, there is blame everywhere but don’t for a minute think he hasn’t had a significant role in it all. 4/4

I've always been perplexed how Barrett seems to slide through the media unscathed while every single other entity in the club is drawn into question.

Mind you he did it as a player also, despite perennial failure. It must be the 6 pack abs and chiselled jawline that prevents comment on such a specimen.
