Just had to get this sh*t off my chest.
Watching a replay of 100% footy, which should change its name to 100% Gus's sh*t, because that's all you hear.
Yeah it's from Monday night and he was still lecturing everyone about how wrong it is that the refs are making teams play to the rules but a comment he made just made me want belt him.
As usual he used someone else's quote, this time a US sporting coach, and used it in the wrong context.
The quote was "If you listen to the fans you might as well go sit with them".
From a coaching perspective yes, but not if you want fans to watch a game.
No one here needs to be told the many ways fans need to be listened to if you want them to part with their hard earned.
But not Goose.
Anyway he's an out of touch knob.
Like Booze rothfield ironically.
Anyway rant over.

I never forget the "Gouldy", he danced like a gazelle, lol, he is a smart reader of the game, but he gets too excited about himself, and just ****s up.

Gould knows his $hit, but the problem is he gets stuck on a point (right now its referees) and he becomes like a broken record.

The thing I find funny about all this business with the referees crackdown is that for years everyone, the fans, the media, have been screaming for the referees to actually do their jobs and penalise things that they generally let go for the most part. Yet now that they have been doing just that, people are whinging about it.

As much as it pains me to say, Greenburg took the wrap on this one.

But the fans aren't whinging about it the 'experts' are.
Geez I get sick of those agenda driven f*ckwits.
He F*cked himself up by saying the fans are in the wrong.
What he's saying is the fans are wrong for demanding the play the ball, offside, wrestle etc is policed.
I'd like to ask this prick who gave permission to change the rules.
He whinges when it suits him.
Give my f*cking game back !!!

Plenty of fans on social media have been complaining about it.

He's a hypocrite though. IIRC he complained about refs last year, but was quite happy when Perenara canned us in the penalty count against Penrith.

Does he actually offer any solutions to the things he constantly complains about?

Tbh the problem with Gould is similar to Hasler.
They know the game and what it takes to win, yet get so absorbed with themselves, that they lose people.
When this happens, the once well spoken words, become almost annoying and in some cases, condescending.

Meh, I rate Gus. One of the better minds in the game. I love it when he calls it how he sees it and doesn’t mind about ruffled feathers!

I remember fondly when he was calling a Storm game and mentioned how often the Storm get a penalty coming out of trouble. He was clearly accusing the refs of favouritism.

As much as it pains me to say, Greenburg took the wrap on this one.

He took the wrap a week before the Nulla Storm “game” and has been very very silent on the matter since.

The CEO is living it on the Gold Coast with the Comm Games, which I find disgraceful...

I watch fox so i dont have to listen to him ranting, or Johns trying to get a sentence out . Disgraceful.

This crackdown is not only desperately needed but years overdue. The game was an absolute shambles in terms of the refereeing.

If they don't enforce the rules like the 10 metres consistently, then players can randomly get away with being inside the 10 at key moments in the match without being penalised. That means that the referees can basically just choose when they're going to actually enforce the rules.

Everyone should be happy about this penalty crackdown. It's bringing all the referee favoured teams back into the pack, especially the Storm.

I honestly don't mind it all that much TBH. One thing I have noticed is that while not all are hitting it with their foot, most players are at least attempting the motion of playing the ball which is a lot better than it has been in recent years with players such as Andrew Fifita simply rolling it with their hand and stepping over it. And I am also noticing a lot less players are willing to be offside, even on the other side of the field to where the play is.

And with players actually being sin-binned, even Scam Smith, players are also not back chatting as much when they give away a penalty. Its still being done, but not to the same degree.

If it makes the players actually play within the rules then its a good thing. I just hope that they are consistent with it and don't let it get back to how it was.

What I like is it seems to have taken the sting out serial rule benders like the filthy purple scum and the sin bining of that disgraceful false idol scam smith gave me a new respect for Chechen (I have surprised myself there)
So if it gets the message across then it might be short term pain for long term good and gain.
But again Greenburg has allowed it to get to this.another black eye for Greenburg
