This young bloke really gave the spring from dummy half...easily the best option there tonight, well ahead of Lawton and Humphreys in slick passing and darting runs "at the right moments" as in playing what's in front of him, which really gave so much more momentum through the middle....this may just be the bloke who Croker has to watch to keep his job - Highly impressive....many talking about how much we miss Fainu which I agree with 100%, but this bloke really is a livewire, knows his role and will really test that ruck and add momentum....won't suprise to see more of him in 2022.
Gordon was very impressive . Very smart player

Most impressive is he looks a natural fluent hooker, he doesn't have to think to hard about what he is doing. Really hope we see more of him as time goes on and of course we keep him
Speed is King and It has always been feathered friend

Speed between the ears and speed on your feet dominates play on the field

Slow play stalls progress and is a Liability

There is an old and true saying
Its the quick and the dead as the slow are devoured by the faster and die

It is elementary feathered friends

At school there were two sides picked

The Blokes on the fastest team would win every time

SPEED KILLS !

Just did a quick rewatch of Gordon's stint and I gotta say I'm even more impressed. Genuinely reckon he was the best hooker on the field on Friday, even though he only played for 20. He just seemed so comfortable and professional at dummy half, didn't try to overplay his hand but when he saw opportunities he showed his craftiness like that nice little linebreak assist to Weekes near the end of the game. Held the middle D tight as well. I really like this guy, hope he gets more minutes next week.

Firstly not gunna bag a bloke giving his best and has done an admirable job
Yes I refer to Croker
Reflecting on tonight's game his forwards never got any roll or genuine momentum, but again in reality, his passes lack the crisp service to bring his forwards over the advantage line and the slow service seems to make the attack look confusing and slow around the middle, can get away with it against the bottom 8-10 teams but a physical rushing defence shows it up every time.
He is tough and usually reasonable defensively and certainly a goer and credit for that imo....but footy tempo starts in the ruck and is as important if not most important in giving your side the upper hand
I have seen Tong enough to know he has attributes that could potentially provide more upside in area's we are flagging and would be super excited to see him get a shot....
Maybe won't happen...in fact I doubt it will....but Personally think it could improve team dynamics immensely.

Its simple, we need a running 9, in the games against the top teams we are easily contained as we don't get any thrust or crispness!
Yo be honest, even Segeyaro a long in the tooth specialist dummy half with a fair bit of baggage is worth a shot, as Des loves his experienced players....but we need some more life out of this role
I see Manly coming good regardless and the assessment this dummy half situation is not an issue being camouflaged....but the big 4 and finals footy I can smell a similar situation so hope something can be done
I don't reckon bagging Croker is the answer....but finding a solution is

Unlikely as you say Maxta this time of the season, the lack of creativity and illusiveness in the middle of the ruck stands out.

Very sluggish in the middle, the last three games we have had nothing to test the opposition teams, got to change something if you want to beat the top teams.

Panthers had all the ball and field position, they had intensity in defence, we lacked that high energy, would like to see Tuitavake given a bench spot if the intensity with tge middle doesn’t improve in coming weeks.
