Halfway point and chances of finals

So we are halfway through the season and it has not been the best year.

For those wondering, we can still technically make finals based on numbers. I think we all agree though based on the last 2 weeks (and our season in general) things are a stretch.

The minimum goal to make finals is 28 points, and given the mediocrity across the NRL this year I think it's fair to say that 28 will probably get 8th home (on F/A).

We have 11 games left which means we would need 9 from our last 11, preferably 10 from our last 11.

So yes, its unlikely, but technically possible.

Also consider we have Warriors, St Merge and the riff the next 3 weeks, so it could all be over by our first bye.

We also still have Storm, Chooks, Riff (again), Gummies, Dogs, Titans, tigpies and Donkeys (although the way we have gone the last 4 weeks, id be more worried about the dogs than st merge).

This year is done in terms of the finals, only problem is we are are still in the frame for the spoon. If we keep dishing up that cr@p we’ll have it by seasons end.

That should cure anyone who thinks we have a chance of playing finals football.

We are beyond useless. There is no way we will concede less than 100 in those 3 matches combined.

the minute you start saying technically can make the finals... is the moment you know you are clutching at straws unfortunately.
Tonight was the nail in the coffin for mine, and I fear it is only going to get uglier being all but out of contention so far out. Injuries certainly have played their part, but there is a lot of work to be done in other areas if this team is going to avoid bottom four

I agree wish we played with even a ounce of Energy and heart that some of the panthers play with...even after the bad injuries panthers have faced I see them going very close to winning the whole thing this year.

I'm sick of having the sh#ts all week. When we beat the Boncos and Storm I had reprieve from the stress of worrying about coming last, now it's back in earnest

Our team has serious shortcomings yet having said that we are not all that far away from being a very good team.
Obviously our depth has failed us in certain key positions.
Personally I don’t see lack of effort.
I do see lack of communication. The best teams always have players yapping instructions to their mates all across the park.
We have a very young side and seem to lack that sort of leadership, especially when Jake isn’t there.

We will never get the spoon. Parra have that sewn up.

We are just way too inconsistent. We have problems that have been around since Barrett's first season. With a bit of luck our way we'd have 3-4 more wins but it's been a bastard of a season. We won't get near the finals and Barrett needs to be let go at seasons end. He's not a good coach.
